My senior year past faster than a blink of an eye. I moved to Long Beach from my hometown in Omaha, Nebraska. After my Pro career ended in a broken skull and ankle. Horribly depressed, nothing but a gray storm cloud to my family. Lost all passion for the sport I became famous in, and loved with my whole heart.

It had hurt me, broken me, and nearly killed me. I got lost in the competition, and skating became more of a job then something I loved. I would wake up, in some city I didn't care to know the name of. Grab my board, littered with sponsors, and leave whatever hotel I was put in by my mom. Nothing going through my head, except for my runs in the comp, tricks for Best Trick, and dread for having to ride my skateboard again.

I didn't know when the shift of me hating something I loved so much happened. One day it went from me going to sleep with my board, and jumping on it right when my eyes opened up. Too, my body recoiling at the sight of my board sitting hidden in the hotels closet. I skated for the paychecks and lost all love for it.

My family felt it too. I had became rude. Horrible to them. I would go months without seeing them, just city hoping to comps and getting more checks.

Truth be told...

Fracturing my skull, snapping my ankle in two, going into a coma, and nearly dying from brain swelling and bleeds.

Was the best thing to ever happen to me.

My family loved me again, and I loved them right back. I didn't have to skate, or compete anymore, but I lost my purpose of living. Until we had moved across the US.

Where I met this beautiful girl, Sadie Morrow. A skate chick, great laugh, soft skin and skilled on a deck. It was practically love on first sight for me.

And turns out, she had been obsessed with me when I was Pro. Love at first sight too.

Now I can't picture my life without her, and not only did she bring in the sunshine, she also reignited my passion for skating. Skating with her was like cloud 9. She introduced me to her team, who didn't have a name really.

Takumi, a Japanese boy who moved to La with his father. Skate's like Rodney Mullens secret Japanese love child.

Miles, a smooth man, and even smoother on a board. Afro the size of Texas, and the definition of Steez.

Cory, resident filmer. Sucks on a board, but can fill like Wes Anderson.

And Scooter. Ska loving, punk dressing brother of Sadie. More like father to her. Aggressive on his board, and dangerous to watch. Old school too, finger flips, cave mans, and boneless. Are the main tools in his inventory.

Sadie, she was great on a board. Smooth, and had skill. Extremely technical, and could thrash anyone in a game of Skate. She was the best in the bunch at grinds, including me.

"Action!"

"Kasey wake up, you're late!" Sarah yelled.

I jumped out of bed, fully dressed in my blue graduation gown and put on my blue graduation cap with white tassel hanging to the side, then I grab my board.

"Cut!"

Laughter filled the room.

"Sarah that was great," Sadie smiled. "A natural on the camera."
