Chapter 7

Birla Hospital

Riddhima was rushed to the emergency room and the duty doctor was notified. Krish was crying while Naksh and Keerti tried to calm him down.

"Mumma, Papa, mujhe bohot darr lagh raha hai. Agar Riddhi ko kuch hua toh I will not be able to live."

(I'm scared. If anything happens to Riddhi, I will not be able to live.)

Aisa mat kaho, Krish. Humare Riddhi ko kuch nehi hoga. Hosla rakh, beta." Keerti said hugging her son while, Naksh was on call with Aarav

(Don't say that, Krish. Nothing will happen to our Riddhi. Please have faith)

On the other hand, Abhira was constantly in tears, thinking about her mother while Armaan was driving as fast as he could to the hospital.

Many intrusive thoughts flashed in Abhira's, making her breathing uneven. Sensing something wrong, Armaan took Abhira's hand in his and begins caressing it.

"Abhira, jo bhi galat thoughts tumhare dimaag mein chal raha hai, please usse seriously mat lo. Riddhima aunty ko kuch nehi hoga." Armaan said, trying to calm her down.

(Abhira, whatever bad thoughts you have in your mind, please don't take them seriously. Nothing will happen to Riddhima aunty)

Abhira nodded her head and turned to look outside the window, silently weeping. Armaan received the a notification from Rohit mentioning that the Poddar family are also on their way to the hospital.

"Abhira, hum hospital reach hogyi. Sambhalo khudko." Armaan said as they entered the parking of the hospital

(We've reached the hospital, Abhira. Calm yourself)

After the car was parked, Abhira got down from the car and rushed to the Emergency Unit followed by Armaan.

"Papa! Dadu!" Abhira went towards her family and hugged them.

"Abhira, please calm down. You are Mumma's strong, right. Our Mumma will be fine, Betu." Aarav said rubbing her forearm.

"Mumma ki tabhiyat suddenly aise kharab kaise hui? She was just fine until the evening. Aisa kya hogya, Dadu?

(How did Mumma's health detoriate all of the sudden? What happened?)

"Pata nehi beta. It was all of a sudden" Naksh said, hiding their encounter with Manish Goenka at the temple.

(Not sure)

Soon, the Poddar family arrived at the hospital and Vidya went straight to Abhira to console her. All of them were waiting outside the emergency unit wards, hoping for the doctor to come out with some good news and he came.

"Doctor, how's my wife?" Krish asked.

"She's stable now, Mr. Singhania. However, we have to keep her under observation for 24 hourse before we can say anything" The doctor explained and everyone breath a sigh of relief.

Aarav hugged his grandfather while Vidya caressed Abhira's head.

Abhira was impatiently waiting to meet her mother, only to see a papercup in front of her with steaming hot coffee. She looked to her right to see Armaan.

"You must be tired. Have some coffee." Armaan said and Abhira took the cup from him.

"Dadisa aur sab chali gayi?" Abhira asked.

(Did everyone go back?)

"Haan, I had to force them to go home to have some rest. But, Rohit and I will be here." Armaan said and pointed towards Rohit who was conversing with Aarav.

"Thank you so much, Armaan. Mujhe sambhal lene kiliye." Abhira said.

(For taking care of me)

"Thank you ki kya zaroorat hai? Abhi toh zindagi bar sambhalna hai tume. Would you thank me every time?" Armaan asked, making Abhira shook her head.

(What's the need for thank you? I would take care of you forever)

Abhira then slowly leaned her head on Armaan's shoulder while her wrapped his hand around her shoulder.

Rohit looked lovingly at his brother and on cue, his phone's notification went off. He took out his phone and saw a message from Ruhi.

How's Abhira's mother? Waha sab theek haina?

(Is everything okay there?)

Haan, Ruhi. Bhabhi ki Mumma abh stable hai. Tum chinta mat karo and did you reach home safely?

(Bhabhi's mom is stable now. Please don't stress out)

Yes, Baba. I've reached home safely. Keep me updated

uhi turned her phone off and looked behind to see her grandparents standing.

"Ruhi, kya hua beta?" Swarna asked.

(What happened, Ruhi)

"Kuch nehi, P.Nani. Woh Rohit ki hone wale Bhabhi ki Maa ka tabhiyat kaarab hogyi. So, he's in the hospital along with his brother." Ruhi explained.

(Nothing, P.Nani. Rohit's sister-in-law's mother fell ill)

"Bhagwan kare woh jaldi se theek hojaye." Manish said before Ruhi left there.

(Hope she will recover soon with God's grace)

"Manishji, aap kuch bholna chahti thi na?" Swarna asked.

(You wanted to say something?)

"Haan, Swarna. Maine aaj Mandir mein Naksh aur uski parivaar walo ko dekha. Woh long Akshara ki beti ki shaadi karwane wali hai." Manish said.

(I saw Naksh and his family at the temple. They are planning to get Akshara's daughter married.)

"Toh kya hua, Manishji. Hume uss ladki se koi lena dena nehi hai. Woh kisse bhi shaadi karwale, hume kya farak padhta hai?" Swarna asked.

(So what? We don't have any relation with that girl, so, it's doesn't matter whoever she marries.)

"Aise kaise, Swarna? Woh bhi humari par naatin hai." Manish reasoned.

(How can it be, Swarna? She is also our great granddaughter)

"Humari sirf ek par naatin hai, Manishji aur woh Ruhi hai." Swarna gave an ultimatum and left.

(We have only one great granddaughter and that is Ruhi)

Manish stood there in a dilemma. He wanted to meet his other granddaughter, the last memory of Akshara but he couldn't due to his promise to his wife to never put anyone above Ruhi.

"Hey Bhagwan, main kya karu? Mujhe rashta dikhaye."

With a silent prayer, Manish too retired to bed.
