The Storm

It's been an hour since Josh left, the storm began to get overwhelming. Cole is downstairs and I'm hiding under my blanket from the thunder crashing. I can't stand thunder, I've never been able to. The lines are dead and the electricity went out. The only light I have is from an old lantern that I'm surprised still works and the lightning bolts that keep striking the water.

"Hey princess," Cole calls for me but I stay hidden still in a lame attempt of hiding from the storm. He comes back up to my room, "what are you doing?" He is laughing at me, as if it's amusing that I'm petrified. I point to the window and he laughs again. "It's not funny," I uncover my head and as soon as I do, thunder claps and I jump.

"Come here," he is urging me to get out of bed, I'm wearing my pajama shorts that are white with cherry prints and lace trims that rest on my upper thigh and a solid, red tank top. "No."

"I got food, come one." He said food, that's my calling. It always amazes people how I eat so much yet stay so small. I stand up and he halts staring at me, "what?"

"Nothing, I'll be down in a minute." I can feel my confused expression painted on my face, "okay?" I walk downstairs and hear him talking to someone. "I don't know what to do man?"

Silence.

"She's hot," there is absolutely no way he is talking about me. "I know I can't do anything with her but holy fuck. She's wearing these short shorts and holy hell man." Maybe he is talking about me. I smirk knowing that I'm getting under his skin.

"I can't go there. It's Josh's little sister," I'm so going to pick on him about this. "I don't know man, I had to rub one off the first night we were here cause I couldn't stop thinking about her in that bikini." The thought of him jerking off to the thought of me heats my core.

"I know dude, trust me, but Josh would kill me."

There is another pause, "she'll tell him." I'll tell him what exactly?

"Yep, bye buddy." I sit at the bar while he walks downstairs. He looks flustered. "Hi buddy," I smirk at him and he stops walking. "What did you just say?"

"Oh nothing. I'm just chilling here in my short shorts." Red paints itself across his cheeks and he stares at me. "What? It's better than being in my bikini." I laugh and he walks closer to me, "stop."

I roll my eyes at his attempt to intimidate me and he is standing closer in between my legs as I sit and a warmth floods through my body. He is towering over me, "you're playing a dangerous game." I don't know why but I couldn't stop myself from looking into his deep green eyes and I caressed his face. He let me, his eyes not parting from mine. A clash of thunder came and made me jump back, nearly falling off the stool but he caught me and sat me back upright, "fuck." He mumbled and walked to the other side of the bar. Pulling a cooked pizza from the oven, he puts it on the bar and starts cutting it. I can see that he's tense. "What?"

"Nothing. Just drop it." I know I should listen to him and leave it where it is but I don't, "Right. I forgot. I'm just Josh's sister." He puts the pizza cutter down and stares at it for a moment before closing his eyes. "You aren't just his sister."

"Right. I forgot, I'm his little sister." I begin to mumble under my breath, "that's probably why I'm too ugly for anyone to want to fuck." He walks over to where I am looking down and lifts my chin with his index finger. "You're not ugly." His comment makes me roll my eyes and he studies my face.

I stand up to go back upstairs but he grabs my wrist and pulls me back where I land against his chest. My breath hitches, "you're not ugly, Kinsley." I can't move my eyes from his. He looks down at my mouth and I bite my bottom lip. He caresses my face and rubs his thumb over where my teeth just were. "Kinsley," the way he says my name causes shivers to go up my spine. His eyes are closed, "we can't do this." I back out from his grasp and nod. Thunder claps and I jump into his arms that he slowly wraps around me.

"Come with me," I obey his command and he takes me downstairs to the basement. The basement I have never been allowed in because it has always been the man cave for my brother and his friends. I look around and see a gaming system, a pool table, a mini fridge, and two more rooms. "I'm not allowed to be down here."

"You are now," he leads me to the couch and flips a switch that suddenly causes the power to come alive again. He switches on the television and hands me the remote. "I'm gonna grab the pizza, pick a movie." I acknowledge his words, could he turn the power on this entire time? If so, why did he wait? I shoved my thoughts to the back of my head and picked a classic, 'The Outsiders'. I press play and the storm picks up but it's not as noticeable down here so I'm not as scared.

   "The outsiders. Huh."

   "What's wrong with it?"

"Nothing, I just assumed you would pick a chick flick like I don't know, the notebook or something." I nod, pretending I understand what he was trying to get at.

He places the pizza on the coffee table in front of us then walks to the mini fridge. "What do you want to drink?"

"Beer," I state plainly. He shrugs and hands me the cold Budweiser. I sit on the far end of the couch and he grabs a blanket that smells like him. "Thanks."
