2003s

I sat on the couch. Klaus and I were still waiting for Bonnie to overcome Esther's spell and break Klaus' blood ties to his sister and other brothers.

Yes, a lot of water leaked after Tatia's decontamination, and as soon as that crazy witch was gone from Mystic Falls, Esther immediately returned. The latter, with the help of her charms and magic, connected her children with their own blood in one chain and now, if even one of them dies, she will slowly drag all the others after her.

And when the pureblood vampires are gone, so are all of us, just plain vampires. So now, in a way, the pureblood vampires were our weakest link, the ones that needed special protection from mishaps.

"I'm hungry," I said and started to walk towards the kitchen, but Klaus grabbed my elbow and stopped me.

"Did you manage to find out something?" he asked, looking at me nervously.

"No. They just said that I was under a strange but very strong spell. They didn't tell me what was happening to my body," I answered and looked at my lover through my eyelashes.

I've been feeling really awful lately. I recovered from Tatia's attack, but a few months later I developed other health problems that were completely uncharacteristic of vampires. I could no longer drink blood either from a vein or from a blood bag. The only blood my body still partially accepted was from animals, so I was now much weaker than I was used to feeling.

I always made fun of Stefan, who for ages lived only on the blood of forest animals, but look at me now: I go to the forest every day to drink the blood of badgers and squirrels. Karma can be a real bitch sometimes.

Despite not being able to feed like a true vampire, I felt constantly tired, so there was no way I could stop sleeping, even though we vampires don't need sleep. If we sleep, it is only to pass the time because we have nothing to do, and sleep is simply lying with our eyes closed and as if we are awake.

And here I am: the very vampire who could now sleep all day sound like a baby's sleep and not even worry about tomorrow.

In addition to all these symptoms, I was accompanied daily by tiring lower abdominal pain, headaches and nausea even without eating.

It was not even necessary to guess who had got his claws into my state of mind: and so it was clear that none other than Esther was a part of this whole conspiracy.

And although none of us dared to say it out loud, we speculated in our minds that Tatia remained alive and she also contributed to this.

"Good-for-nothing witches," Klaus cursed and let go of me, and I left the room.

On my way to the kitchen I heard a noise coming from the dining room. When I came to it, I saw how Klaus' sister was torturing Damon Salvatore and I involuntarily started to giggle. The tube was hopeless until I saw a pool of blood on my precious carpet and threw up.
