Katherine Pierce
I hardly talk to anyone who lives together. They constantly talk to me, encourage me to talk. But I had nothing to say to them.
I was nobody.
Absolutely nothing.
My mind was empty, like a desert where it only rains once a year and all the plants are just cacti, because nothing ever grows in such a drought.
And does not survive.
But in my mind, even at those times, it didn't rain, and there were no cacti in my mind. And there was no drought inside. There was nothing in my mind.
My insides were a deep abyss. Opening the day I realized something very terrible was being done to Klaus.
My insides were rotten. Rotten heart. Rotten thoughts. I'm all rotten. Both from the outside and from the inside.
For five years, day after day, all I could feel was an indescribable, painful, barely bearable agony that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
The calm water of the lake was the only thing that calmed me intermittently at this point. Everything else was horribly insane. I wanted to shout to the whole world how much it hurts, how much I want the suffering to end as soon as possible, but I could only remain silent.
As if someone had pulled out my tongue.
Or worse...I would have suddenly lost my voice.
The agony I felt only kept me silent. And although the people who were still close to me wanted to know all the details from the time when I was held captive by Tatia, I still remained silent and did not tell them anything.
I couldn't.
I didn't want to.
It was too hard to voice what I was feeling.
After glancing at Hayley, Bonnie, and Kevin leaving the yard, and Raphael briefly glancing at me with an uneasy look, but as she walked inside, I waited a dozen minutes and quickly ran to my bedroom.
As much as it hurt, as much as I didn't want to do anything and was afraid to even move, I was still going to get out of here.
Therefore, without taking anything except my mobile phone, passport and wallet, which I put in after stealing at least ten dollars from everyone living in this house, I called a taxi, but I told the driver to stop only at the narrow path that leads to this house, but not to turn into the yard.
After waiting for another half hour, I slipped out of the house and crawling through the bushes and hiding behind the tree trunks, I came to that narrow path. I don't know how long it took me to come, but as soon as the taxi car stopped, I jumped in and indicated where to take me. I told the driver to hurry because every second counted.
