After I last saw Isobel and lived in London for a few months, we parted ways. She didn't tell me where she was going and I didn't tell her where I was going. We never asked each other too much about personal things. The only personal thing she knew about me was what I was going to do when I got back to Mystic Falls.

A month passed and I returned to my home town of Mystic Falls. I stayed at the furthest edge of town, in a very poor motel, to avoid unwanted attention. So far it's been comfortable.

I decided to go for a walk today, so I straight up straightened my hair to look like Elena Gilbert, my doppelgänger. I had big plans to learn more about Elena Gilbert from her friends.

I masked a few differences in facial features between myself and my  dopplegänger with light makeup. I threw on a dark green thin sweater over a dark brown blouse, skinny heels, and kicked off some light ballerina shoes. I put my cell phone in the back pocket of my jeans and left my tiny and horribly creepy room in this even more horrible motel.

When I got to town, I went straight to a bar called Mystic Grill and sat right by the window. Normally I would have ordered a bourbon or my favorite tequila. But since I'm Elena Gilbert today, I ordered a large cup of coffee.

I watched everyone coming and going in and out of this building and the passersby on the street. I fixed a thoughtful and slightly sad look. The way Elena is. Although it was terribly boring, I couldn't give up. I was risking my public appearance because the real Elena could walk into this bar at any minute, but I couldn't just sit there and do nothing.

I was soon approached by Matt Donovan, Elena Gilbert's best friend and ex-boyfriend. From the first day I saw him, I found him to be a real charmer to say the least, who was probably the most normal person I've ever met on this campus. I couldn't understand how that stupid Elena could leave such a beauty.

Today the guy looked even more attractive than any other day. Or maybe I didn't even try to look at him through the eyes of Elena Gilbert and still looked at Katherine Pierce.

"Hello, Elena," the blue-eyed guy spoke and stood in front of me for a while. Of course, only after placing a cup of steaming coffee on the table. His tone sounded like he was asking, but wondering at the same time. "What are you doing here?" he asked. In contrast to his facial expressions, his tone sounded monotone.

For a while I looked at Matt with my Katherine's look, then I remembered that today I have to act like Elena, so my look softened and I tried to smile exactly the way my doppelgänger smiles.

"Hello, Matt..." I corrected Elena's tone of my voice. And in order to do this, I had to try my best, because my own voice is much sweeter than Elena's. "Uhmm... I just came to drink coffee... You know, lack of caffeine and stuff like that..."
