Katherine Pierce
I opened my eyes and saw that I was in a deserted room. It was damp and cold. Every limb of my body was frozen. I tried to break free, but I had to face the fact that I am just a despicable and weak human.
My hands and feet were shackled with chains that were stretched and attached to the stone walls. I pursed my lips tightly and tried again to free myself from the chains, but my efforts were futile.
In the faintest light, I saw Konstantin coming out of the darkness and approaching me.
"You?!" I growled.
"Hello, daughter," said the man mockingly, grinning from ear to ear. He was holding a whip in his hand and my heart seemed to be pounding in my chest with fear. I clenched my fists, praying that he wouldn't think of whipping me like he used to do.
"What do you want from me?" I asked.
"What I want?!" he pointed to himself, raised his eyebrows in surprise and came even closer to me. The pads of the fingers of his free hand began to stroke his cheek. I looked away, though I was still looking at him out of the corner of my eye. "Well, let's remember our last meeting a month ago, when you were in the hospital after the fight with your ancestor Tatia... You were not very nice to me."
"You deserve it," I spat out.
Konstantin grabbed my chin roughly and squeezed it between his chubby, thick and strong fingers. His skin was scarred from hard physical labor. The man was pressing my chin in such a way that I felt pain. But I didn't make a sound.
"Look at me," he whispered, but I was still looking somewhere to the side. I didn't want to look at a man who had robbed me of the opportunity to raise my own child. Even if that man is in another person's body. "Look at me!"
Now Konstantin was screaming at the top of his lungs. How I remembered those times, when even before I learned about vampires and all other supernatural creatures in the world, my father would scream at me if I didn't obey him.
I slowly turned my head to Konstantin, looked at him with contempt and spat directly in his face. The man closed his eyes as if frowning, and pulled back to wipe my saliva on his face. Then he growled in a throaty but quiet voice.
He was about to turn and walk somewhere away from me, but at the same second he turned and slapped me on the cheek. As much as it hurt, my gaze remained fierce. I wasn't going to show him that his behavior hurt or affected him in any way.
"You say I don't deserve it, huh?" he asked and moved closer to me, looking intently into my eyes.
Then he got up from behind and ripped the dress I was wearing at Kevin and Raphael's wedding off my body.
