Yukikos POV
After my talk with Oikawa, I thought that everything would go back to normal...but it's not.
The look on his face was heart wrenching. He looked so betrayed, heartbroken, and it was all my fault. I couldn't choose just one guy, I had to be selfish, I had to be greedy, and for what? Attention? Validation?
Rise was right, I wasn't acting like myself and look what happened. I hurt an innocent person and I'm with a guy I truly love, but I don't feel happy. Should I even be thinking about myself at this point? I was the one in the wrong. Ushi has been trying his best to comfort me and telling me not to worry so much, but it's easier said than done.
I wanted to make amends, not break someone's heart.
"Is this seat taken?" I looked up and saw Rise. "Hey, uh no you can sit" I said. She sat, "thanks, I've heard you and Ushijima are a thing, like officially a thing" she said "yeah, well not official or anything but the feeling's there" I said "the feeling is in that ring, you know how much that cost?" she asked "I don't care about the price...but if you know...". She smirked, "I'll let you figure it out, all I'll tell you is that Chanel is an investor" she said. I nearly choked on air as I heard that, "are you serious?" I asked, holding onto the ring carefully.
"Yeah, but you should ask him. About what happened-" I cut her off "I'm sorry Rise! You were right from the beginning, it was a bad idea to talk to two guys at once. It was wrong and mean and cruel of me and it was even more wrong, mean, and cruel of me to call you heartless and use your social anxiety against you" I took deep breaths as I finished my rant.
She looked at me surprised, "you had a lot on your chest it seems" she said "yeah...you're my best friend and I couldn't stand living any longer knowing how badly I hurt you" I said. She gave me a smile and hugged me from the side, "you have no idea how painful it was to not speak with you" she said. I smiled back, "I love you, let's never fight again ok" I said "I love you too, and I will admit, I went pretty hard on you about Oikawa. I should know that not everyone is going to handle my opinions positively" she said. "Aww, I think this is the first time I've seen you apologize" I said giggling. "Bullshit, I apologize so much" she said "you're very stubborn, god I feel so much better now that we've made up" I said.
"Me too honestly, there is something I needed to tell you, two things actually" she said "yeah! What's up?" I said "so...I'm seeing someone" she said. My eyes widened and my face dropped, "what" I said "I'm seeing someone, like...a boy" she said. I let out a squeal of joy "OMG! RISE! Oh I'm so happy for you! Who is he? How long have you two been together?" I bombarded her with multiple questions. "Remember Seijohs Ace? Number 4? It's him" she said "...Oikawas friend?" I asked "yeah, his name's Hajime Iwazumi" she said. "Really? Wait, that game was like 3 weeks ago. You've been hiding this from me for nearly 3 weeks?!" I exclaimed "well Yuki doesn't know! And I wanted to wait a bit until I told anyone" she said "does Makoto know?" I asked "...of course she does, she's my therapist" she said.
Oh my god, the betrayal I'm feeling right now is astronomical. "I can't believe you, keeping me in the dark with this" I said "well if you're upset with being left in the dark with my dating life...you're not gonna like the other thing I have to tell you" she said.
~Makoto's Dorm~
"So, your crazy ex boyfriend showed up out of nowhere a month ago, he harassed you and broke into your boyfriend's house and threatened to kill him, AND YOU DIDN'T TELL US UNTIL NOW?!" I yelled at Makoto who was sitting on her bed looking very guilty.
"Yuki found out the day it happened because she witnessed it and I found out like two days ago because Kurros hacker friend is doing an investigation on him" Rise explained "so I'm the last one to know again?!" I exclaimed "that's not important Yukiko! Makoto you can't keep stuff like this away from us. We were there for you the first round with Katsu and we'll be there for the second round too" Yuki said, sitting next to her on the bed. "I know and I'm sorry, but I know how much you guys panic under pressure and Katsu is being so much more aggressive then before...I don't want anything to happen to you guys" she said.
"Dude, we're your friends, Yuki and Yukiko might panic under pressure but we could care less about ourselves. All that matters right now is your safety" Rise said "you have to fill us in, now that Kurro and Yuki are involved we all need to get this sorted out before anyone else is targeted" she continued. "Wait what?" I asked "Katsu found me when I was out yesterday, he threatened me because I saw what he did to Makoto when he first popped up. That guy really gets on my fucking nerves" Yuki said. "Jesus, we should get the police involved at this point. Are your parents back from their trip? Maybe they can help" I asked Yuki. "They should be coming back next week, but the cops aren't gonna do shit, we should stick with the amount of evidence Kurros's friend has and when my parents get back they can do their lawyer stuff" Yuki said.
"I think that's best; We should all stay calm and collected, if we panic we ruin shit. The fact that Kurro was targeted and then Yuki makes me think this guy is trying to get to everyone that's close to Makoto in hopes of hurting them to make her life miserable and eventually break" Rise said. "Sounds like some shit he would do, god I thought I was done with this shit" Makoto held her head in her hands.
I crouched and held her hands, she was stressed and scared. "Hey, breath, it's gonna be okay. We're here for you and we're going to resolve this" I said, caressing her hair. "I just wanted to be happy...I didn't want anyone to be endangered" she said "we won't if we just stick to the plan, Kurro is safe at your place and we're all safe at the school. We're lucky Yuki was at the hospital with security so she was safe but we have to be careful in public now that he's probably going to target us next" I said. She nodded and hugged me, "yeah, you're right" she said "I'll collect all the evidence Kenma has on him and when Yuki's parents get back I'll have it all ready for you" she said.
"Great, I'm gonna warn Iwazumi just in case Katsu wants to go after him too" Rise said "wait, who's Iwazumi?" Yuki asked. Rise froze in her tracks, "Rises boyfriend~" I said "WHAT?!" Yuki exclaimed "god damn it" she muttered "wait! Change the subject! You're dating someone?!" she asked "I'll explain all this later, let me warn him before we have more shit hit the fan" she said leaving the dorm.
