What is actual rest?
I may have only experienced it a handful of times
When my mind isn't racing
Over analyzing everything
Of what needs doneWishing I had more time in the day
To get all done
For the next day to be able to relax and breathe
But that's not how life works
There will always be something to be doneA joke we say in my family
"I'll get my sleep when I'm dead"
Somedays it feels that way
Insomnia is back with a vengeance
When I do sleep it's waking every couple hoursI try to cut time out in my day
To rest and recharge
Days I feel it's a waste from hostile mind
Other days it beneficial when it's a hard day
To be able to have a restart moment
One day when I'm old and gray
I'll know what true rest is
