I keep my heart caged
Built a Great Wall of protection
Don't let it down
Until I met the one
My safe space
My person
Day by day
Brick by brick
The wall is coming down
Showing what has been caged for years
The vulnerability, protection and love
I've always craved for in a relationship
Each brick showed him my trauma
He hugs me tightly on the hardest days
And on the good days too
The cage stays put for others but not him
