"Jamie..."

Her voice trailed off, her eyes filling with tears as her hands went over her mouth in surprise. His eyes were big, smiling slightly at the face of the love of his life.

He knew his life had been leading up to this moment. He had grown, changed, and become the best version of himself in order to be this person for her. The only reason the green-eyed man had ever felt good enough for her was because of her. She had done so much for him. He wanted this for them.

Tallulah's mind instantly went to all the memories she had with the man. The first car ride home from the gala, the visits when they had moved him to Manchester, the first kiss, the coffee shop, the lighthouse café, the everything kiss, the mornings, the nights, the blueberry muffin breakfasts, the beach, the stars, Arabella.

"Yes, Jamie. Yes, of course, I will marry you!" Her lips instantly synced to his, kissing him as if it were the first and last time wrapped into one. They stayed like that for a couple of moments, wrapped up in each other and their own world, before breaking apart at the sound of people clapping.

"Ahhh, my Jamie's engaged!" Jamie's mum cheered, throwing her arm around the pair. The newly engaged couple laughed, Tallulah turning her attention to the doorway which she hadn't realized Jamie had left open, seeing Keeley, Roy, and Simon all standing there beaming.

"Let me see the ring on you!" Georgie tugged on the girl's hand. The ring was beautiful, with a slim gold band and an oval sapphire as the main stone. "Oh, it's gorgeous, the blue matches your eyes." The woman gently took hold of the girl's hand and kissed it lightly, "Thank you for being so good for my boy."

"Always." The girl smiled at the woman.

Roy and Keeley then came into view. "You're getting married," Roy stated.

"Well, yeah. Kinda the point, isn't it?" Jamie joked with him.

"I'll fucking kill you if you hurt her," he furrowed his eyebrows.

"I know," Jamie chuckled, "You've told me that before."

"Congratulations, you two," Keeley spoke up, kissing Tallulah on the cheek.

"Thank you, Keeley and Roy... in your own way, I think you secretly love that we're getting married." Tallulah teased, to which Roy grunted.

"Should we all start heading back?" Keeley piped up, linking her arm with Roy and coming down the steps of the home.

Jamie and Tallulah looked at each other, both knowing what the other really wanted, "I think Ulla and I are going to hang back a little bit," Jamie started.

"We'll see you guys tomorrow." Tallulah smiled sweetly, thankful that Jamie knew her so well to know that she wanted that time with him and vice versa.

The couple said their goodbyes and headed out on their way back to the hotel, going through the streets of Manchester.

"Fiancé," Tallulah giggled to herself, much to Jamie's amusement, "Such a fun word I get to say now. Hello, my name is Tallulah Fitzpatrick and this is my fiancé, Jamie Tartt."

"Hello, my name is Jamie Tartt and this is MY fiancé, Tallulah Fitzpatrick."

They both laughed at each other before falling into a comfortable silence, then the sound of music filled the air. Smooth piano followed by a burst of trumpet and drums.

The couple grew closer to the sound, sending each other excited grins. "I love jazz." Tallulah beamed, picking up her speed a little bit. "I know you do." Jamie chuckled back, trying to catch up with her, his hand latched onto hers.

"Hurry up then!"

The walnut-haired boy laughed again but began to reach the pace that the girl was at, finally reaching the destination. An antique-looking jazz club sat before them. The building seemed to be collapsing in on itself, the sign above the door read the fitting name Old Star.

"Shall we go in, doll?" Jamie asked, opening the door for her.

"I think we shall," Tallulah grabbed hold of his hand and walked into the open room, the band still playing the movement from before. Most of the crowd looked like they should be in bed already, having been fast asleep for several hours and eaten at four o'clock in the afternoon.

"Get us a seat, I'll get us drinks," Jamie told her. Tallulah nodded along to the plan and found a spot somewhat near the front for both her and Jamie.

After a couple of minutes, Jamie came back with a Shirley Temple and a non-alcoholic beer in hand. The girl happily took the former from him, giving the boy a thankful smile. They sat listening to the music for a bit, Tallulah laying her head on her fiancé's shoulder and settling into the spot.

Soon the song was finished and most of the musicians cleared off the stage, leaving just the pianist after being whispered a piece of information. He stood up from the bench seat and made his way to the microphone. He looked to be a bit older, late fifties maybe early sixties, and spoke in a gruffer, raspier voice.

"This is a special request brought to you by the lovely couple in the front who just got engaged. I wish you luck, kids, and take my advice: stay happy. This one is for love." He stepped away from the mic, Tallulah kissing Jamie on the temple, knowing that when he went to the bar he must have told the bartender that they were celebrating.

The older man adjusted his sleeves and began to play a tune. (Play "City of Stars" by Ryan Gosling).

It was their song.

Jamie then began to whisper to her, "I had always known I was going to fall for you. That first night when I didn't stay over, I had just come over because I needed someone and you were there. We watched La La Land and I didn't get this song. The City of Stars..." Jamie trailed off, obviously in thought.

"You... you told me it shouldn't matter what the other dreams are, the other person becomes the dream. You became my dream then and Ulla?"

"Yes, Jamie?" She looked at him with such love and admiration that it would make couples that have been together for fifty years jealous, the sense of undying love, one that would never get old nor tired.

"I think we're gonna work out in the end, don't you think?"

"Always."
