"You know, I don't think I've ever seen them have more fun on the field at training before," Tallulah commented as she stood with the coaches, watching the young men mess around on the pitch with joy.
"You know, I didn't want to say it at the time because I'm trying to be less stuck in my fucking ways," Roy started.
"But?" Ted obliged him to talk more.
"I thought it was nuts to change our entire philosophy and start a new play mid-season," Roy continued, pausing again until Beard egged him on to talk with the same word Ted had used before.
"But it's fucking great," Roy said with a smile on his face.
"Wow, and here I thought Roy Kent had never smiled before in his life. Look at that, blinding that is." Tallulah playfully shoved his shoulder, making him roll his eyes.
"You know, they're having fun, we're having fun, these folks are having fun. It's a whole bunch of fun," Ted commented, looking around at all the people around him. The cheers from the crowd demonstrated just how much fun they were really having.
"Yeah, I was meaning to ask about that. Since when do we allow people to just wander in on training?" Tallulah questioned, looking around at the hordes of people that had begun to show up.
"We've been doing that for a while now. Where have you been, Bambi?" Ted joked.
"Busy, I guess..." She frowned. The girl had been so busy with the bar and the apartment and Jamie and the baby, of course, that Richmond was slipping through the cracks. Rebecca knew, obviously, what was going on—well, not about the baby, but about the bar. She was over the moon about her opening up her own business, but it seemed like her time with the team was coming to an end.
She hated the fact she didn't know what was going on. That they had changed up their new plays or that they had opened up the training. Everything was changing.
"I haven't seen 22 dudes have this good a time on grass since I saw the Grateful Dead jamming with the Black Crowes and Phish," Beard commented, still on the thoughts of how different the players were acting with the new plays.
"I bet that was a tight show," Ted thought out loud.
"Oh, it was a mess," Beard immediately responded. "But they had fun."
