DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING
Clary
I walked out of the women's locker room, on my way to the spot my mother and I had agreed she would pick me up. It was at the right far corner of the parking lot to avoid the most amount of traffic. I decided not to change out of my gym clothes, especially after noticing that Isabelle Lightwood had gym at the same time I do. I already felt naked when she looked at me, I didn't need to actually get naked, so instead I kept my white t-shirt on with my black cloth shorts.
Right as I walked out of the gym and into the hallway, I saw Dan carrying two large black containers, or struggling to do so.
"Oh, hey Clary," He said as the container wobbled.
"Do you need help with those?" I asked, he struggled to answer as he tried to balance the containers.
"Um..No.." right as he said that one of the containers started to fall. I caught it right before it did, and decided to take it off his hands. He let out a breath of relief. "Thank you, actually...some help would be nice," He said with an embarrassed smile.
"Yeah, of course, what's in the boxes?" I asked as I began to follow him, he started walking towards the direction in which he came in, which I found a bit odd, but maybe he had turned himself around while balancing the two boxes.
"It's just some equipment I have to take to the photography room." He said. As we continued down the hall, there were less and less students around, which made sense since the exit to the school was in the opposite direction.
"Oh, is this for that pathway class?" I asked, trying to make conversation.
"Yeah, the teacher just needed me to bring all of these old cameras to the red room so he can try to get the school to upgrade them." Finally, we made it to a black door, which differed from the usual brown. There was a sign that read.
DO NOT OPEN
RED LIGHT IN PROGRESS
Dan puts down the container and opens the door, letting me in first. I walk in, the room, true to its name, was red due to the colored lights, with photographs that were hung on cords, the way clothes would be hung to dry, others were submerged in buckets of liquid. It was an eery scene, the liquid looked like blood due to the light, and the photos were of random pieces of furniture, all old, some broken, others dirty.
"So where should I set down the container?" I ask as I turn back to the door, only to see Dan kick the container into the room. The container slid up to my feet, and he slammed the door shut, cutting the outside light and darkening the room, the red light now being the only source of light. A figure emerged from the shadows and slid the deadbolt, locking me inside as he stood guard. It was a shadow hunter. As the realization hits me, so does the panic, I drop the container in my hands, the same way I dropped that tray. I whirl around to see a couple more shadow hunters come into the dark red light. Jace's threats fill my head.
You can tell me, what the fuck you're doing here, or you can tell one of the other shadowhunters before they fill that pretty little head of yours with bullets.
or you'll end up like your stepmother
As I scan the room of people present, I realize that Jace isn't there, and that his threats weren't threats at all, but warnings. An older man with a silver beard finally emerges, he had a leather jacket, tattoos, and a gun in his belt, and judging by the fact that he is standing in the middle of the room, he is someone dangerous.
"Clarissa Adele Morgenstern," He said with a sickening smile. "What a pretty little thing, you know, the pictures of you online don't give you justice," He said as he walked up close to me, I tried to take a step back but found that there was someone already right behind me, it was some guy that was at least 6 feet tall with a buzz cut, someone I hadn't seen before. "Jace didn't mention she'd be this cute," The man says to another guy next to him.
