Guards stood around a small prison cell. In the cell was the mutant Rogue. She has the power to absorb the memory, life force, and powers of anyone she touches. The guards looked around, making sure no one was planning on trying to free her. Suddenly, Rogue's teammates, the X-men, burst into the room. The team leader, Cyclops, had just blown down the door with his optic blasts. Each of the guards tried to fight off the heroes, but their powers proved to be too much for them. Smoke had now filled the room during the fight. Rogue watched from her prison as her teammates came running through the smoke towards her. Suddenly, lasers and robotic arms shot up over the room. The X-men ducked and avoided every blow thrown at them. When the battle had been won, the X-men walked out of the smoke towards Rogue. One of them, named Gambit, placed his hands on the bars and backed away. They began to glow pink and Rogue stepped away. The bars then exploded, freeing Rogue from her prison.
"Excellent job, X-men," the professor's voice said.
The room disappeared and revealed a large, metal room. The X-men called it the Danger Room. The Professor wheeled in through the metal door and congratulated them on their success.
"The simulation went perfectly," he said with a smile. "Now, why don't you all go and change for dinner."
Everyone left the Danger Room. People piled into the elevator and the doors closed, taking them to the main floor. They went to their rooms and changed into their regular outfits. When everyone arrived at the dinner table, they began to eat. Storm had made pasta with meatballs and garlic bread. By the time dinner was over, not a scrap of food was left. Evan offered to help his aunt clean up and wash the dishes. While they were doing the dishes, the students of the Xavier Institute began to get ready for bed. Soon, everyone was fast asleep.
