Chapter 9 (part 2)

Inside, Gambit was heading for the exit when he was stopped by a group of thugs. He

pulled out a handful of cards and threw them at the men. The cards exploded just in front of the

men, who were knock off their balance and thrown backwards. Gambit threw open the doors

and ran across the yard.

He ran through the trees, trying to get away from his rivals and hide while he waited for

the return of his team. Just as he ran around a large tree, Gambit stopped short. In front of him,

Julien was leaning against a tree.

"Long time no see, Gambit," he said. "How long has it been? A couple of years?" Gambit

stared at him with his red eyes. "Pretty girl you got. Last time you visited us we didn't expect

her, especially not her powers. But this time, we were ready."

"Leave Rogue out of this, Julien," Gambit said. "This ain't about her."

Julien chuckled and said, "You're right, Gambit. It's not just about her. It's about both of
