Chapter 13

Gambit sat up a little straighter when he heard someone calling his name. But it was not

out loud; it was in his head! Someone had come for him.

"Gambit," the voice said again. "Can you hear me? It's Jean."

"Loud and clear, Jean," Gambit thought. "What took you so long?"

"Gambit, can you give us any clues as to where in the house you are?"

"Not sure how much help I can be, but the only thing I can see is the moon through my

window. And who's with you?"

"Got it. Rogue is with me right now. Can you send us any kind of signal?"

"Not sure. Julien might have broke my ribs, so I no good in escaping. But I could try

charging a card and shining it through the window."

"That would be great. We will find you Gambit; don't worry."

"I'm not worried about me, Jean. I'm worried about Rogue. Julien wants to get ahold of

her so he can use us for our powers."

"I'll keep her safe, Gambit."

"I know you will Jean," Gambit said aloud.
