Laura dabbed her hair dry as she drank the bitter concoction called coffee, why do people even like this thing ? She threw the towel on the kitchen floor and kissed her brothers on the forehead who munched on dry cereal.
"I'll see you two when I come back " she said with a genuine smile
They just grinned at her and giggled as she ruffled their hair
She never had to fake a smile around Benjamin and Sebastian, she loved those two pure souls more than anyone else, they deserved nothing but happiness. She gave them a final kiss before turning to the door
"Hold it " boomed her mother, it took everything in her not to sigh out loud "where are you going ? It's Saturday, you only go to Mrs Gen on weekdays "
Laura roamed around her mind for a logical excuse but nothing came "I'm meeting with Dayne, Mrs Gen's son " she reluctantly said
Her mother looked like she was deciding on how to react when she finally landed on a broad smile "Dayne ? " She chirped
"You mean that tall, handsome young man with muscles that most boys his age could only dream of having ? " she continued with a psychotic smile
Laura grimaced at her in disgust, the fact that her mother really thought all those things about an eighteen year old was nauseating
"Uhm I guess so... " She answered conveying her disgust through a look that her mother ignored
"Wonderful ! His parents are rich too, my daughter has taste after all. Go on Laura you can't keep Dayne waiting " she said practically pushing her out the door

She walked through the crowded square of Cyprise, the Kingdom was the definition of beautiful and perfect. The gravel road was smooth without a single pothole and the cobblestone walk path had no dent, mansions, normal houses, boutiques and restaurants rested on either sides of the road. The factories and construction offices were located further away to protect the residents from noise and air pollution.
She turned left at the T-road and made her way to the bridge which was surprisingly less crowded than she's used to . Dayne stood leaning against the thick stone railing staring down at the glistening waters beneath him, he wore a black and white marble hoodie and knee long red and black sport shorts with expensive looking sneakers, while Laura wore a purple top and midthigh denim shorts with worn out dirty sneakers, one of four pairs of shoes that she owned and her pouch strapped around her waist. She made her way to Dayne who greeted her with a mischievous smirk
"Laura Rasper, didn't think you'd show up " he said
"I am the one who said we should meet, it wouldn't make sense for me not to come "
"Right " Dayne answered with a shrug " so is there a reason for this meeting ? "
"You have battle gear and I want it " Laura cut to the point
Dayne snorted "it's not for sale "
"I wasn't asking "
He ignored her tone "why do you need it ? "
"Not that it's your business but since you will eventually find out I might as well say it, tomorrow is the legion enlistment and I have no gear so I want yours "
Dayne laughed as if she cracked a good joke " I'm sorry did you say legion enlistment ? "
"I did, is there a problem ? " She replied, her intense gaze never leaving him
