'Victim: Terry Mkhize, a 58 year old black woman visiting from the Kingdom of Mecadonia, happily married to Walter Mkhize with three adult children. [Names not given]
Terry was murdered on straight street in the village of Kurah by three unidentified men, she was stabbed seven times in various spots that show she had resisted. Once Terry was near death, the men departed from the scene.
This happened at exactly 10pm in the evening when Terry had gone to take out the trash and check her planted potatoes. The three men seemed to have been awaiting her coming as they dragged her from her yard while having her mouth covered.'
Using a purple marker, Laura jotted down the information from the file onto the portable large white board with wheels at the bottom of its legs. She held a tall glass of fizzy cream soda in her left hand, she can't remember how many of it she drank, it was the only thing keeping her awake at such an ungodly hour of the night.
Her chamber window was open, the cold air that swept in also helped keep her awake. The sounds midnight were soothing, the gentle howl of the wind and the chirps of crickets, the subtle click of the clock added to the serenity of night.
The chamber King Aaron arranged for her was of course much smaller than Andreas'and less extravagant but still a very comfortable, usable size.
The door was in the centre of a wall and directly opposite it was a grey L-shaped desk, with three drawers, on the right side of the desk was a glass shelves cabinet bearing plants. On the right side of the desk was a cozy, lounge with gas fire place with empty wooden book shelves.
Laura stood in the space between the desk and the lounge, she placed the marker on the desk and backed away to inspect her work. She had two large boards: a white board divided into sections with various colours with information on certain victims. A pin large board bearing pictures and notes of places in the Kingdom and victims, placing her soda down, she pinned a picture of a building called Marlins beauty parlour.
A tired sigh left her lips, she rounded the desk and deflated onto the seat, gazing down at the organised stack of documents and files, including hand written notes. She yawned and chugged down the remnent of her soda, she organised them into a port folio that would be going to Phil the next day, which was practically today.
Once down she stood up from her seat and stretched, she locked the windows, taking into her arms the port folio, the keys of her chamber and the keys of her bedroom which were both on her charm bracelet. She switched off the lights and locked the door, silently making her way to her room, the castle was ever quiet at such hours of the night. She dragged her hand on the railing, looking down at the view below her the glow of the chandelier illuminating the polished tiles, which feature a pattern of intertwining silver and gold leaves. The wall below her is lined with tall glass double doors, outside it was a garden she hadn't yet stepped foot in, the glass allowed the moonlight to pour in.
She leaned against her bedroom door as she locked it shut and sighed heavily. So this is my life now...?
She threw the folders and keys on her vanity and entered inside her closet, picking and changing into a plane baby blue onesie with thick ankle socks, she pulled the hood over her head and closed her curtains before she leaped onto her bed. Switching off the lights from the switch beside her bed and calling it a night.
...
Laura exited her room with a yawn, squinting at the brightness and locked her door. In her other hand she held the port folio from the previous night to give Phil, the castle was fully awake, servants did their mundane tasks and the officials exited their rooms making their way either to meetings or to their chambers.
