Andreas' POV
The ambulance van sped down the hill, Andreas sat in the passenger seat, gripping the handle tightly with urgency. Jade has woken up. The ambulance van took a sharp turn into restricted hospital gates, and hadn't even finished parking when Andreas jumped off and started into a run up the parking and into the hospital.
So many questions travelled through his head, as he made his way passed doctors and nurses.
Is the baby okay? Is my sister okay?
He tried to be positive but it was near impossible after not hearing anything from the doctors for days.
The steel doors of the ICU were open. He ran into the white room and came to an abrupt stop, in the centre was a large hospital bed with Jade and Reuben in it and his parents and Jotham surrounding them.
"Jade!" He exclaimed, relief drenched over him.
She lifted her gaze to him and rolled her eyes, "Andreas if you're going to be here then be quiet."
He nodded and ignored the hurt, silently sitting on the edge of the bed. Jade looked tired rather than sickly, her skin was dry and pale, her eyes red and her hair in a transparent shower cap. She covered the thin white blanket to right above her belly, having bandages on her arms and neck. Reuben cuddled beside her, her head resting on his shoulder as he gently rubbed her belly.
"You were saying sweetie?" Asked his mother with a small smile
"The doctor said the baby is okay, if the blade had gone any further then..." Her hand subconsciously went to her belly "...I don't even want to think about it."
King Aaron took her hand and planted a kiss on it, "that's good, but how is my baby feeling?" He asked
Jade allowed her eyes to wonder as she thought, she forced a small smile and looked up at her father lovingly. "I'm feeling okay dad."
"Are you sure? No pain?"
"Nothing of that sort, I am a little traumatised though, I can't believe I almost lost my baby..."
"I can't believe I almost lost my baby girl," replied king Aaron with teary eyes planting another kiss on her hand.
Jade turned to Andreas. "Dad told me you're investigating this matter, how's it going?"
All eyes turned to him which was quite sudden. He cleared his throat, "moderately well, I've had help from Laura, one of the Legionnaires."
Jotham tsked, "I honestly don't trust that girl with such a case."
"Who is she?" Jade asked, her curiosity piqued.
"She's the girl who found you on the hills, and she also happened to have useful evidence for this case," Jotham replied.
"Where is she?" Reuben asked, his eyes scanning the room. "I must thank her before we..." He paused, his gaze drifting to his mother, before continuing, "before we head out."
Queen Miriam's eyes snapped to Reuben, her expression freezing. "Leave?" she repeated, her voice trembling. "You just got here."
Reuben's eyes cringed, and he took a deep breath before speaking. "I know, Mom. But after what happened... I don't want Jade to stay here. I've already called my PA in Turan, they're sending cars to fetch us."
Queen Miriam's face folded, her eyes boring into Reuben's"I didn't give you my daughter so you could separate her from me," she whispered, her voice cracking.
Jade reached out, taking her mother's hand. "Mom, please. It's not like that. Ruby is just worried, and I have to obey." She glanced at Reuben, her expression softening. "But we'll come back and visit."
