Katrina looked at Yara with a mix of determination and curiosity. "Yara, have you seen Betty?"
Yara nodded thoughtfully. "You mean the one who makes monsters from simple objects and then escapes? Yes, I've seen her a couple of times."
"That's the one," Katrina confirmed.
"She's incredibly sneaky," Yara continued. "Every time I try to follow her, she walks away super quickly after leaving a monster to slow me down."
Katrina sighed in frustration. "She's been a thorn in our side. But we need to catch her and escape from this building."
Yara looked at Katrina with a hint of curiosity. "By the way, do you have the Soul's Book?"
Katrina nodded. "Yes, I have it."
Yara's eyes widened with interest. "Do you know about the Amalgam Form and the Supremes?"
Katrina nodded again. "I know all about the Supremes and my grandmother, Klemens. But I don't know much about the Amalgam form."
Yara smiled. "When someone with a developed soul reaches a certain level of power, they unlock the Amalgam Form. This form gives you a different appearance and unleashes your full Amalgam powers."
Katrina listened intently, absorbing the information. "I see. That sounds incredible, if I reach that power, I would be able to smash betty like a bug."
Tisha, who had been listening quietly, spoke up. "We should start moving. We can't waste any more time."
The three women began their ascent to the fifth floor. The stairs creaked under their weight, and the dim lighting added to the eerie atmosphere. Katrina's heart pounded in her chest, the anticipation of what awaited them making her palms sweat.
As they reached the fifth floor, the atmosphere changed. The air felt thicker, charged with a strange energy. Betty stood there, a smirk on her face as she greeted them. "Welcome," she said, her voice dripping with mockery. She pulled out a small toy from her pocket and stabbed it with a magical antenna before darting away. The toy began to grow, transforming into a massive, menacing creature.
Yara glanced at the monster, then at the stairs. "I'll go ahead. You two handle this." Without waiting for a response, she disappeared up the stairs.
Katrina and Tisha exchanged a glance, then turned to face the monster. The toy had grown to an enormous size, its eyes glowing with malice. It had various abilities, like launching plastic balls with incredible force and emitting a laser from its eyes.
The battle began with the monster launching a barrage of plastic balls at them. Katrina dodged to the left, narrowly avoiding a direct hit, while Tisha rolled to the right. The balls exploded on impact, leaving small craters in the floor.
Katrina charged forward, her fists glowing with energy. She landed a powerful punch on the monster's leg, causing it to stumble. Tisha used the ring to turn invisible, sneaking up behind the monster to deliver a surprise attack with her newly developed strings. The strings wrapped around the monster's arm, but it broke free with a burst of strength.
The monster retaliated with a sweep of its massive arm, sending both women crashing into the walls. Katrina groaned as she got back on her feet, shaking off the impact. She looked at Tisha, who was already on her feet, determination burning in her eyes.
"We need to get that antenna off," Katrina shouted over the noise.
Tisha nodded. "I'll distract it. You go for the antenna."
Katrina watched as Tisha turned invisible again, darting around the monster, making it swing wildly in confusion. Taking advantage of the distraction, Katrina charged her fists with energy and leaped onto the monster's back. She climbed towards the antenna, using her charged punches to deflect its attacks.
Just as she was about to reach the antenna, the monster emitted a powerful laser from its eyes, forcing her to jump off to avoid getting hit. The laser cut through the wall behind her, leaving a smoking hole.
Tisha reappeared, using her strings to tie up the monster's legs, but the creature's strength was immense. It broke free once more, sending Tisha flying across the room. Katrina felt a surge of frustration. They needed to end this.
With renewed determination, Katrina charged at the monster again. She used her agility to dodge its attacks, finally reaching the antenna. With all her strength, she pulled at it, but it wouldn't budge. The monster roared in anger, trying to shake her off.
Seeing Katrina struggling, Tisha focused her energy and used the ring's power to create a series of strings. The strings wrapped around the antenna, and with a combined effort, they both pulled. The antenna finally snapped, and the monster began to shrink back to its original toy form.
Exhausted, Katrina and Tisha collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily. The toy lay harmlessly between them, its threat neutralized.
Katrina looked at Tisha, who was equally tired. "We did it," she said, a tired smile on her face.
"Yeah," Tisha replied, leaning back against the wall. "But that was just one of many, I'm afraid."
They sat there for a moment, catching their breath. The silence of the room was a stark contrast to the chaos of the battle. Katrina's mind raced with thoughts of Betty and the mysterious power she wielded. They needed to find her and stop her for good.
As they regained their strength, Tisha spoke up. "Yara mentioned something about the Supremes and the Amalgam Form. Do you think we could achieve that level of power?"
Katrina thought about it. "Maybe. If we keep pushing ourselves and learning more about our abilities, it's possible."
They stood up, ready to continue their journey. Katrina's resolve was stronger than ever. They would find Betty, uncover the truth behind the mysterious plants, and stop whoever was behind this chaos. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead.
The battle had taken a toll on them, but it had also strengthened their bond. As they made their way to the next floor, Katrina felt a sense of determination. They were not just fighting for their survival but for a greater cause. And with each step they took, they got closer to uncovering the truth and putting an end to the threat that loomed over them.
