Railway Networks in the Eastern Continent
As of Eastern Calendar 724, or Federation Era 6, only the Cignus Federation has the capability to construct, maintain, and operate railway and locomotive systems. While other nations have attempted to replicate this technology, they have seen little to no success.
Currently, Cignus boasts over 3,400 kilometers of railway networks, excluding the extensive industrial, military, and secretive rail lines that are not included on civilian maps.
Between Federation Era 2 and Era 5, Cignus successfully laid approximately 1,900 kilometers of new railway tracks, significantly expanding their network in a remarkably short period. This rapid development has led to the flourishing rail-centered communities, with many settlers and migrants establishing themselves around railway junctions and stations. These areas are becoming the backbone of Cignus' industrial, commercial, and population centers in the future.
As of now, an estimated total of 4,000 kilometers of railway tracks have been laid, with plans for continued expansion to further interconnect the country.
