Ending up in a cell himself was not what Zuko had planned. Hopefully it wasn't what Sokka planned either but the other boy was nowhere to be seen. After the ordeal with the other guard and Sokka trying to get away after Zuko was forced to retaliate against her- he hadn't seen Sokka. Hopefully it was just to keep cover and he wasn't about to just abandon him in prison...

He got somewhat comfortable on the prison cot and stared at the ceiling. One nice thing about being a firebender was his tolerance for heat so the warmer temperature inside wasn't too bad. But he didn't feel sleep coming. His mind was too busy with thoughts to rest properly.

Maybe it was a really clever conspiracy with the others to bring Zuko to the prison and get him captured. It was elaborate and the more Zuko thought about it, the less sense it made. Aang seemed to like him, and he did need to learn firebending so there wasn't any reason as to why he would be in on it. But Katara wanting him arrested had some merit.

"No I'm being stupid." He grumbled to himself and turned on his side.

Just because he had a history of being second best (or lack thereof) didn't mean it was the case now. Sokka liked him, and he trusted him. His being the prince just meant that he was under closer watch. Which wasn't something Sokka wanted to be under either. And right now he was their only ticket out of here since he wasn't under suspicion.

It was fine. Everything would be fine.

"Zuko," Sokka slipped into the Prince's cell and he shot to his feet, not expecting the visit. "I'm not supposed to be here, if people see then I could be captured."

"What is it?" Zuko asked, glancing behind Sokka through the window in the door that he was also looking through.

"I talked to Suki and she's in on the plan." He turned to face the Prince.

"That's good," Zuko folded his arms across his chest. "Did you tell her the other thing?"

"Yeah." Sokka nodded. "She took it really well actually."

    Zuko just nodded in return.

"I don't want to explain the whole plan to you right now since I don't have much time, so I'll come find you tomorrow okay?"

    "Okay." Zuko smiled weakly.

Sokka glanced outside again before leaning in quickly to peck Zuko on the lips. Then he slipped out of the prison cell, leaving Zuko standing in the middle of his cell. Feeling a little bit better now, the Prince lay down again and soon felt sleep take over.

The next morning Zuko made his way over to the main hall with his mop. He began cleaning, keeping his eye out for the other prisoners- hoping that none of them recognized him. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed someone approach. Turning his head, he recognized the girl who was making her way over. Suki. Her eyes were locked on him, he averted his to the floor. What was she going to say once she reached him?

Silently, she began mopping next to him. Her demeanor felt somewhat hostile. But she didn't seem keen on attacking him or anything like that...

"Oh, great! You two have met!" Sokka beamed at the two of them as they mopped.

"Actually, we met a long time ago." Suki almost mumbled, frowning slightly.

    "We did?" Zuko couldn't remember.

"Yeah," She sighed. "You kind of burned down my village."

"Oh..." He wasn't sure what to say to that. "Sorry about that... Nice to see you again."
