Forever and Always [Kazutora x Reader]

03: Peke J.

It's been a few months since you've befriended Kazutora Hanemiya and Chifuyu Matsuno. For today's agenda, you're at the pet shop again!

It has been a while since you had time to visit the shop after lots of busy weeks at work, but since today's Sunday, you decided to visit. As usual, the two greeted you and seemed to be delighted by your visit.

While playing with the pets, you heard Chifuyu call out for Kazutora in the staff room. You turned to see what happened, they seemed to be talking about something and Chifuyu is scolding Kazutora.

The two went out, "Y/n... We have a favor to ask you, is it okay if you look over the shop for a while?" Chifuyu asked, looking at you with his cute puppy eyes.

"Kazutora seems to be so busy pursuing his love interest that he had forgotten to check the stocks of our pet food and other necessities. Please Y/n, we'll be quick."

You smiled and nodded, "Oh I'd love to guard over the shop. I'm sure Peke J. will help me" you giggled and petted the cat's black fur.

Chifuyu seems to be glad to hear you agree, and off the two went to do their errands.

You couldn't help but think about who this love interest Chifuyu is talking about. You shrugged it off since you didn't want to be a nosy friend towards Kazutora's love life.

While petting Peke J, you heard two aggressive barks. You checked it and saw that two dogs are fighting and you immediately tried to stop them. While trying to stop them, one of the dogs tried to bite you so you panicked and fell back, accidentally unlocking a lock from the other dog pen.

The puppies instantly rushed out of their play pen and ran around the shop. "Ah! Oh my gosh, puppies, go back please!" You tried to carry all of them but they were already starting to make a mess.

One of the puppies pissed on the corner, the others playing with each other knocked down several things.

"Puppies stop that!" You yelled, chasing after them not knowing what to do. You decided to rush to the staff room to check for any materials to clean the urine on the floor. You grabbed the items and cleaned the floor. As you were about to cry for the mess you've done in such a short time, Peke J. walked towards you and nuzzled up to your hand.

You frowned and said, "Oh Peke... what should I do? Chifuyu will surely get mad at the mess I made!"

He meowed in response as if he understood what you said, he ran to one of the puppies and chased her back to her pen. You lit up and decided to help him too.

In a few minutes, all the dogs were back to the play pen. You start to clean the mess they made. Peke J. meowed to you when you couldn't find the tool you're looking for.

In a span of 20 minutes, everything looked normal again. Thanks to Peke J, you got everything back in control. You sat down on a chair and Peke jumped and laid on your lap. You gently rubbed his tummy, satisfied purrs came out of him.

You were happy, "You're a very smart cat aren't you, Peke?" You said to him in a baby voice, hearing a meow in response you felt happier and giggled, "Oh what a good boy!"

You gently placed him on the floor and took his favorite toy, you sat down again and played with him.

A few minutes later, the two arrived with all the things they need.

"We're back, Y/n!" Kazutora called out for you, they were smiling.

"Good job on looking after the shop while we were gone" Chifuyu praised you.

You chuckled awkwardly, "Well... actually about that-" as you were about to confess your mistake earlier, Peke J. jumped back to your lap and meowed, as if telling you to not say it anymore. You smiled and laughed again, petting his head, "Peke J. was such a good boy earlier."

Chifuyu seems to be surprised that his sassy cat has behaved well today. "I see, glad to hear that."

Your pet-sitting sideline was a disaster at first, but thanks to the smart black cat, Peke J. has saved the day!
