BOUND BY IMPERFECTIONS

Chapter 25

"What about you?", Jimin asked after a few minutes went by in silence in which Jungkook

had thought the omega had drifted off to sleep." Why are you going through with the courting

even though you don't love Zuyu....."

"I do love her", Jungkook defended and he heard the omega chuckle.

"Of course you do, she's your wife's best friend", Jimin stated matter of factly." And she's

your daughter's Godmother so of course you must love her to some degree but just as friends

right?".

"Right......"

Another silence stretched out into the night before Jimin cleared his throat.

"What was she like?"

"Zuyu?"

"No..... Mi-Yeon—your wife", Jimin said and a fond smile appeared on the alpha's face at

the mention of his wife. He didn't know why but he felt like he wanted to tell Jimin about his

wife and how much he had loved her. He felt like Jimin would understand—Jimin wouldn't

tell him to move on and focus on his life but to take it slow and process his grief." You don't

have to talk about her if it's too much pain for you...it's just I heard so much about her from

other people but not your version of her you know, they said she—"

"I met her at the carnival", Jungkook started slowly, cutting Jimin's rambling off." I knew it

the moment our eyes met that she was the one for me. It's like I saw our future flash before

my eyes you know ...."

"So you pursued her?", Jimin asked and Jungkook laughed.

"Yeah—yeah I did", the alpha smiled thinking back to that day when he was 17 years old and

Mi-Yeon was also the same age." Mi-Yeon....she was stubborn as she was kind. She refused

to go out with me you know but I insisted on it and I even turned up at the Lee's place

making my intentions known to Mr and Mrs Lee... Mi-Yeon made a deal with me, she would

only let me court her if I promised to get my father to sponsor stationary supplies for the

orphans. Of course I got my father to do what Mi-Yeon wanted but not only that, I got him to

do so much more and she was impressed alright but she never said so".

"She was going to go off to college you know and we were going to turn 21 soon which

meant I was coming off age and I was going to inherit my rightful place as heir to the pack",

Jungkook continued." I couldn't see my life without Mi-Yeon. I couldn't see myself waking

up to some other omega except her so I did the most selfish thing I ever did in my entire life

—I asked her to marry me. We were both young but we were in love and I was going to

inherit the whole pack so what could possibly go wrong right?.....I should have let her go to

college in the city. I shouldn't have held her back, maybe then, she would still be alive

now.... probably in another Alpha's arms but still alive".
