Chapter 2

The team met at Davis and Emily's house that night and listened to the recording of Gretchen Lowen telling her story of what she had experienced in her mansion from the violent entity that had terrorized and haunted her and her girls for months. They listened wide-eyed to how the entity had attacked her and caused physical harm to her and her small daughter, Mia. Vivian spoke low. "The fact that this entity would hurt not only Gretchen but also her daughters, who are only four, proves that it has no remorse or conscience. It is angry and volatile, and with the injuries that she sustained on the night in question, it is dire that we get in there and cleanse this house. It will kill next. I am sure of that."

"How do we go about this?" Davis asked with concern.

Vivian turned to Emily and spoke. "Would you please call Gretchen and let her know we will take her case after this meeting?" Emily nodded with relief.

"Of course."

Vivian stood up and paced around the living room.
"This will be how we will cleanse this house."
"Stephan, Bella, Clarrisa, and I will go in and read the house before we learn its history," she said. The mediums nodded. "We want clear readings. You said that the house is big, Emily?"Emily nodded.

"Yes. From how Gretchen described it, it is big and lies on the banks of the Savannah River. She described it as grand and beautiful. I can't wait to see it," she said with enthusiasm. Clarrisa chuckled.

"I can."

Vivian looked at Clarrisa and shook her head. She was still young and had much to learn. "Sisters, you will cast a spell of peace and safety over the house, just as you did at Hastings and Stephan; you will do the automatic writing at the séance. I want to stay there for the weekend as a team and study the house and learn it, so when you call Gretchen tonight, Emily? Please inform her that we will arrive on Friday night and leave on Monday morning. Risa and Emily. I will put you in charge of research of the house, property, and families that have inhabited the house." She looked at Emily."Do we know the year that the Keller Estates was built?" Emily shook her head.

"No. Not yet."

"Good, Davis?" Vivian said to get his attention.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"I will put you in charge of all equipment and handling all recordings and playback. You will follow us wherever we go in the mansion with the ghost hunting kit I ordered after we came together and decided to do this as a group." Davis nodded quickly.

"Sounds good."

Vivian sat on a high-backed chair at the pub-style table and folded her arms. "Well, we are ready for our first official cleansing as a group."

"May we be successful in this undertaking," Willow added softly.

Bella's heart pounded loudly in her ears. Sweat poured down her face and into her eyes, stinging. She was somewhere she had never been, and the space was small and closed. Bella could barely breathe. Something brushed against her face. She reached out and felt it and realized it was a garment. It dawned on Bella then that she was in a closet, and she was crouching down low. It hit her hard. She was hiding from someone.

Bella stayed very still and listened. Her senses were alert. He was coming. He was searching for her. She moved as far back as she could. Bella was tired. Her limbs felt like jelly. She had been running for quite some time. Bella felt something sticky on her arm. She touched it, dipping a finger in it, and sniffed it. It had a metallic smell. Bella feared that it was blood. She was bleeding. Bella heard a door open close to her. It was in the same room. She froze and clamped a hand over her mouth so he could not hear her breathing. He wanted to kill her. He was trying to kill her. That was for sure. But why? Who was he, and why did he want to end her life? What had she done? Bella was completely backed up to the wall of the closet. She could retreat no further. There was no way out.
