Chapter 13
As Davis, Vivian, and Bella made their way back up the dark stairs to start another session, Luna sat down on the floor by Clarrisa. Clarrisa lay very still and kept looking up at the ceiling. "Peirce and I were going on our first date next Saturday," Clarrisa said flatly. Luna nodded.
"You still will, babe," she said softly. Luna looked at her and touched her hand. "Can I get you anything?" she asked." How about bottled water?"
Clarrisa was crying softly. She turned and looked at Luna."I want a mirror," she said in a whispered tone.
Luna looked at her and smiled."You rest, chick," she soothed. "Plenty of time for that later," she encouraged. Clarrisa struggled to sit up.
"I want... a...Goddamn mirror," she said through clenched teeth. Luna softly grabbed her by the arm and looked at Willow for guidance. Willow nodded her head. Clarrisa had to see, at some point, what Jackson had caused. They could not hide it from her. Luna reached down in her bag by her side and pulled out a small black compact. She handed it warily to Clarissa, which Clarrisa shakily took from her hands and opened. Clarrisa took a deep breath and held the mirror to her face. She looked at herself. At first, she was quiet; then, she began to cry and laugh simultaneously. "Well. that date is a no-go." Sobs shook her small frame then. Willow cried, too. She hated to see her children in pain. "Oh my God," Clarrisa moaned wretchedly as she looked at herself. "Oh my God!" She looked like a monster! The skin around her eye was so swollen, and there was just a big red gap where her eye, or what was left of her eye, was. She threw the mirror across the room, and it hit the white marble mantel above the fireplace and shattered into many tiny pieces on the floor. Luna tried to put an arm around her, but Clarrisa shrugged it away. "I'm so...ugly," she sobbed pitifully into her hands. Willow went to her daughter and tried to comfort her.
"Rissa. Listen to me. They might be able to save your eye," she assured her. Clarrisa pushed away from her mother.
"How!" she screamed." When it looks like it is fucking gone, and we cannot even get out of the house because of this bastard! He has us trapped here! We should have never come to this fucking place!" Clarrisa wept bitterly. Willow spoke to her calmly.
"They are up there right now trying to communicate with these spirits," she said. "We will get out of here."
Clarrisa looked at Willow. She could only see out of one eye. She closed the good eye and looked at Willow again with her injured eye."You are... just a gray shape," she said, crying.
Willow pulled Clarrisa to her, and this time, Clarrisa did not fight. She melted into her mother's arms. Willow rocked and soothed her like she had when Clarrisa was a baby."It will be okay, Rissa," Willow said with comfort. Willow prayed that she was right.

Vivian walked down the dark hallway with Davis and Bella close to her. "We will leave the main bedroom alone for now." The upstairs was bone-chilling cold. Bella's teeth chattered. "Juliette, are you here with us?" Vivian asked as she opened the door to the crying room. The room was also cold but not as frigid as in the hallway.
The three walked into the empty room, and Vivian grew excited as she saw that the EVP recorder in the corner of the room was blinking yellow rapidly. Sadness overtook the group quickly, though.
The PMB (Paranormal Music Box) was sitting in the middle of the floor where Davis had placed it earlier in the day.Vivian sat crisscross applesauce on the floor by the box and closed her eyes. She placed her palms down on her knees and then turned them upward. "Who is here with us?" she asked loudly."Is it you, Juliette?" she asked next. "If it's you, Juliette, can you touch the music box for us?" Bella watched on, as did Davis, and they saw nothing happen. "Do you like to dance Juliette? Can you dance that pretty dance for us again like you did yesterday?" Vivian urged. There still needed to be a response.
