The chaos that filled that little room next made me want to scream and order everyone to leave, but I was suddenly being led out of the room by Ian and his mother. I barely acknowledged Ian and Sophia speaking and didn't even know if they were speaking to me as my mind repeated the scene of my grandmother's physical state. Her torn clothing, pale skin, her bound hands, and tired eyes.

I wanted to cry. I snapped my head up in a semi-coherent moment. "We have to plan a rescue mission and get her back," I ordered.

I barely even breathed the words out, but to me, it seemed as though I had shouted them. Ian was on my right side holding my arm securely while his mother was on my left arm. She patted my shoulder and had the saddest look on her beautiful face.

"Shhh," she whispered.

I hadn't even noticed all the people we passed on our way to the Monarch Nine. They all bowed respectfully, not rising back up until we had passed. It was barely in the back of my mind to notice them. All I knew was that I had to get my grandmother, safely, alive, back to me. My only blood relative left in the entire universe. The thought made my heart ache.

Ian and Sofia led me to my bed and before trying to talk me into lying down, Sophia gave me a cup of water. I drank it and was surprised to find myself thirsty.

"Thank you," I whispered and handed the cup back to Sophia. The next thing I knew, I was blinking my eyes, trying to force them to stay open and Ian was covering me up and kissing my forehead. It had been some hours later that I found myself curled up next to Midnight on my bed. He wasn't sleeping this time, but instead, watching me diligently.

Sophia! Midnight called.

I was confused, but then Sophia entered my room and sat softly next to me.

"Are you feeling any better, dear?" she asked with concern still prominent on her face.

I looked around. "Where's Ian?" I asked, confused as to why he wasn't there and then scared as to why he might not be there.

"Shhh, it's okay. The Dos gave you something to help you rest. You just lay back and rest some more." She patted my hand.

I sat up more and furrowed my brow in annoyance. My head felt light, like it was floating. I didn't like that feeling at all, and it only made me agitated.

"Where is Ian?" I insisted as I tried to move my legs off the bed. Dos Lee and a soldier entered my room then. It looked more like blocking the door to me, though. I got a very bad feeling, and my stomach knotted. I looked straight into Sophia's eyes. At first, her eyes were just sad, which was normal I suppose, but I sensed something else. I asked again more forcefully this time. "Where. Is. Ian?"

Her eyes almost shifted from me but held however, her facial expression gave it away. "Macy."

The soldier who I realized now was Sergeant Tieck moved in closer.

I shook my head, and he stopped. I was not ready for them to tell me more bad news, especially if it had to do with Ian.

"Macy." Sophia spoke softly in a concern drenched tone. "Ian and Wyatt, uh, General Grant left out hours ago for a rescue mission."

My brows furrowed and I looked at everyone before landing back on Sophia. I was confused. "How long have I been asleep?"

"Nine hours," she said, and I gasped.

"What? What the hell? Why did you do that to me? I could have helped." I was confused, but I was also becoming very irate.

"You were in shock, so we had to help you," Dos Lee answered.
