POV - Frida

Of course, just hours after gaining vital information, one step closer to infiltration, Draxum decides they're needed in the hidden city. For what you might ask? Oh only a very important retrieval of...

Nectrals.

Nectrals are a kind of glowing fruit down in the hidden city that grow basically anywhere. The only thing stopping people from taking and eating them raw is the particularly toxic chemical called gæjü. Or how humans say it in their language, lead. Powerful witches and wizards can manually remove the chemical from the fruit and wash it over before selling it at markets.

Still doesn't excuse why Draxum decided right now during their very important mission he decided to employ his war devices as lackeys for a very simple retrieval mission. Even the gargoyles could complete this without complication!

Sure the important information wasn't enough to effectively hunt down the specimens. But it still gave them something to work with.

Frida felt her face quivering into a smile at the thought of the pig mutant once again trembling before them. Loose lips spilling quite the gold mine of information, from the direction he saw them come, to the attitudes they portrayed, and even how they defeated him. The power both of them held over his pathetic form practically had Frida in giddy cheers.

Cleo was muttering to themself the whole time. Causing a pit to form in Frida's stomach as she gazed warily in her siblings direction.

"What's so interesting over there?" She questioned.

They spun around and met Frida's gaze with prideful eyes. Holding up something that appeared unrecognizable and complicated to the youngest. Perhaps another creative invention of her dear sibling?

"This, my dear sister, is Alpha Project 2-01. A smart tracking device designed for hunting down a heart's greatest desire." Every word seemed to go in one ear and out the other for the spotted turtle.

"I think we call that a reason to live..." Frida attempted to correct.

Cleo shook their head, feigning disappointment. "Tch tch...you see, Frida. My device, once opened and closed at the polar ends, activates. Observe!"

Unexpectedly, the top and bottom of the device shot out. Two domes made them up as two sharp looking projectiles folded outwards and caused it to fly. A red button appeared on the top, lined with silver that ran along each side.

The bottom of the contraption shot out fluent moving arm extensions. Completing the entire look with fake eyes that opened from either side of the top dome.
Giving it the viewing field of a duck from the looks of it.

"Cleo this is.."

"Brilliant? Awe-inspiring? No need to finish your sentence as you are beyond words?"

"...Weird."

Cleo stopped. His stuttering in surprise and confusion hidden in their rocked expression.
squaring his shoulders back, Cleo robotically turned to his sister.

"Weird? It's amazing! Now this baby can handle all of the boring menial chores that Draxum puts on us. Allowing us to get—say it with me now—" Dramatic pause for effect, "a certain four turtles! Without the need for obvious distraction."

"There was no way I could even begin to say that at the same time as you. Anywhoos how does it even work?" Doubt blanketed her voice as she witnessed a visible gleeful shudder passed down the eldests back.

"Alpha 2-01. Initiate protocol 1-00EA."

The machine whirred in place and blinked its mechanical eyes. Pupils darting from one location to the next. Finally, it fled in the direction of the marketplace. A cartoonish trail of dust picking up behind it and left the two mutants standing in place waiting.
