14. Mayor's Challenges

It was already 12:36 AM when the Mayor arrived at her house in Bamban just near their farm. After she stepped out of the car, a notification popped up to her phone.

Messenger: A New Message Request (1)

"May nag message? Mamaya ko nalng titignan"

After she opened the door, she went to the kitchen to drink some water and went upstairs to meet her dog.

"Caaaashhh!! Hi Cash, kamusta na ang baby kong 'yan haa... cute cute naman ng baby ko baka Cash yarn. "- she greeted her dog with a smile on her face

"Kawawa naman, di ka pa ata kumakain anak ko ahh, wait lang haa, kuha lang si mommy ng food." - she added, then went down to get Cash a food.

While she was preparing the food for her dog, she opened her phone and another message request popped up. She took a sip first of the water and opened the message.

Hello Mayor, nakauwi ka na ba? I'm so sorry kung nabigla ka kanina, kahit ako rin nabigla. Are you okay?

"Si Risa pala. Rereplayan ko ba?"

Alice went back to feed her dog, Cash. After feeding Cash, she went to her bedroom to take a half-bath since it was a long day and she was too tired for the day.

Pagkatapos nyang mag half-bath at magbihis, ay kinuha nya ang phone sa ibabaw ng drawer. She checked her business and work phones to see if there was anything new or important.

So far, wala naman syang nakitang important maliban sa schedule ng requests of the additional documents needed and schedule for studying her case.

Before going to sleep, she checked her personal phone kung saan nag chat si Sen. Risa. Her mind is still confused, filled with questions about Risa and their past.

"Are you okay?" tsk, malamang hindi. Gusto ko syang replayan pero wala ako sa mood. Di ko maintindihan kung anong nararamdaman ko.

Bakit ngayon lang? Bakit sya pa? Bakit...

Hay nako, bahala ka dyan Risa. Matutulog na ako.

Alas dos na ng madaling araw, pero wala pa ding response si Alice... Galit kaya sya? Malamang nabigla din yun. Pahupain ko nalang muna siguro. Hayyy, Lord help.

Tinanggal ni Risa ang salamin sa mata at pumikit sa pagkakahiga. Pero hindi pa din matanggal sa isip nya yung mukha ni Alice na maluha-luha bago umalis ng bahay nya.
