TODAY WAS Y/N'S FIRST day at Karasuno. She had no problem introducing herself to the classes she would be attending; however, they did tend to make fun of her accent. It had sort of a southern drawl, her parent's was much thicker. She had been home schooled her whole life until now. Her parents sent her to school because her aunts and uncles ragged on her parents for Y/N's lack of social skills. She wasn't shy, she just was a little socially awkward. She spent most of her time on her phone talking to her boyfriend; they had met at a farmer's market six moths ago, they had started dating four months ago.
She wouldn't admit it, but their relationship was kinda dry. When they would talk he never wanted to actually talk about their days. He just complimented her, which would be fine if he wasn't using the same compliments over and over again. It was sweet at first, until it got old. She liked the compliments, but sometimes she just wanted to have normal conversations. She always denied the compliments, thinking he might get the hint to stop. His family also had a farm, and the two hung out every weekend. Over text and the phone he was a different person. It was like she had a sweet, caring boyfriend in person, then a boy who didn't care for anything other than her looks over the phone.
Truth be told, he wasn't answering today and she was stressing. The last text he sent read: "dont speak to me again." and she was waiting for an explanation. She had no clue what she did. She didn't call him this morning, was that it? In her mind there was no saving the relationship considering he was pissed and she was bored. She was reflecting on their cute and fun moments together during her math class. It was the first day, so naturally the teachers let everyone talk for the most part. Part of her did love him, but she knew if he came back she was going to send him away.
The plan was after school, put everything he gave her in a box and leave it on his doorstep, maybe even with a letter if she was feeling emotional enough. She was pulled out of her thoughts when a boy with gray hair and brown eyes tapped her shoulder. She let out a hum in response.
He introduced himself. "Hey I'm Sugawara and I was wondering if you joined a club yet?"
She tilted her head slightly. "Yeah, I joined art club. Why?"
The boy blushed slightly. "Volleyball club is looking for another manager so."
She laughed. "I'm no good with sports, sorry."
"No worries!" He said his goodbyes and went back over to his friend, leaving her alone with her thoughts again.
School ended before she knew it and she had arrived home, greeted her parents, and went straight to her room. She grabbed an old boot box, his clothes, and the things he gave her. She folded his clothes nicely, it was only a few t-shirts and a hoodie he had gave her when she was cold. She grabbed the charger he left at her house and placed it on the box. She then grabbed all the jewelry he had given her. She didn't wear gold anyway, she pretended she did when he had given it to her. She was too nice to hurt his feelings at the time.
"Fuck this." She mumbled to herself, grabbing a bottle of glitter and pouring it in the box. She closed it and shook it around, letting the glitter get everywhere. She then got to work on the letter. She wrote about some of their memories and how she knows he wont forget them, how when she hears her favorite song she will be what she thinks of. She was so angry with him and wanted to make him aware of it. She left a side note at the bottom that read "Maybe see what type of jewelry your next girlfriend likes, I've never worn gold dipshit."
She signed the letter and put it in the box, along with some of the Polaroids they took together. She drove herself to his house, placed the box on his doorstep, rang the doorbell, and left.
When she got home she was hit with the sad realization that he was all she had, she didn't have friends, just him. Now he's gone. She cried that night and took all of their pictures down.
