A/N Because I'm working now, updating is hard. It's just a short summer job of course cause I am a full time student, so I'm not going to be terribly busy this summer.

So to make up for gaps between updates I'm gonna post little short stories of past miraculous wielders that aren't plot relevant . For fun!

If you are binging this fic/series and there are updates past this then you can go ahead and skip if you want.

This is a short story about Golden Empress, a past wielder of the bee miraculous.

Enjoy ;0

It was the Jin Dynasty, 309 AD, and emperor Wu was still in power... in a sense. The people were living in a time which would later be known as the "Sixteen Kingdoms of the Five Barbarians," a chaotic period in history where China had "split" itself into sixteen dynastic states. The split was not good for the country and, as you can assume from the nickname, large groups of barbarians were beginning their rebellion in the west.

A silent outbreak of genocides was wildly racing across the country side through provinces and counties overlooked by nobles in the west. Jiang Lei was traveling through these wild counties, hoping to save the people. She was the wielder of the bee miraculous after all, it was her duty upholding justice.

She currently found herself watching a late night festival from afar, fully adorned in her transformed state that made her a legendary hero named the Golden Empress. She was more a vigilante than a super hero. The people knew of her but rarely seen her, hence why she was considered a wildly spreading legend. Now, of course, there were other vigilantes like her, all fighting for the freedom of the people in this era of barbarians, genocides, and imbalanced power. The emperor himself was hardly a thought when so much power had been given to the wrong leaders—power that Lei was fighting to overthrow.

It was her first night in this town and noble leader Tuo was probably also watching this same festival from a good enough distance that he'd be safe from assassins but close enough to still enjoy the street parade. Of course, Lei believed if he was actually a good leader who didn't kill off the poor, he wouldn't have to worry about assassins like herself. Still, she scanned the streets for a sight of him. She had no idea what he looked like but, being a noble from a strong bloodline, she assumed his clothes would force him to stand out like the ugly sore thumb he was.

Through all the colorful smoke thrown into the air, Lei managed to spot him. He was the richest man in the entire county, responsible for overlooking the towns within and, especially at this time of year, the farming. Unfortunately, he made the people work like dogs and when someone so much as collapsed from heat exhaustion, he was known to put them down like said dog. He didn't see human life as something of value. He saw people as a way of profit. If they weren't helping him earn money, they deserved to die.

Lei, in the form of the Golden Empress, stalked in his direction. She didn't look too out of the ordinary, even when transformed like this. She appeared to be a very rich young woman with a golden hanfu, decorated in ribbons and jewelry and a magnificently elegant way. Her hair was done up over her head, held together by golden plates and other accessories which actually helped to mask her actual miraculous, which was a comb shaped like a bee. But she didn't look too out of the ordinary. If she were normal she'd have to fear being robbed but in a state like this, if someone tried to rob them she could easily paralyze them with her powers.

"What business do you have with the lord?!" said the sudden voice of a woman. The Golden Empress was now about to step on a similarly richly dressed woman who had placed herself between Lei and lord Tuo. Lei hadn't realized she'd gotten so close to him so quickly.
