"Marinette, Plagg is going to stay with us for the night," Tikki said as she brought Plagg into her room through the trap door.

"What?" Marinette gasped in alarm, "is everything alright?"

"He's had a rough night," Tikki said weakly, dragging the black cat kwami through the trapdoor. He seemed awfully reluctant, or maybe his brain was scattered.

"Is Chat Noir okay?!" Marinnette asked urgently.

"Chat Noir is fine," Plagg said wearily. Tikki led him to Marinette's mini sofa and he instantly collapsed over it.

"What's going on?" Marinette demanded.

"We can't tell you, it violents Chat Noir's identity," Tikki said. She noticed Marinette reaching for her earrings, as if to threaten her. She sighed. "Marinette, I know you want me to be softer on you, and I really am trying to be, but I also can't be open about everything. As much as I'd be happy to tell you, because your input could be very useful to us on the subject, I can't. This isn't because I am trying to keep you in your place, this is genuinely for Chat Noir."

"I understand," Marinette said, though she still had her fingers tracing the rim of the earrings cupped in her hand. "But... I'm confused. I know you can't tell me anything, but shouldn't Plagg be with Chat Noir for Chat's safety?"

"I really should be," Plagg grumbled. He suddenly clenched his hand over his heart and his breath became unsteady. Tikki put her own hand over his clenched fist and shushed him.

"Plagg, it's going to be okay," she promised.

"It won't be, it won't be..."

"Is Chat Noir–" Marinette was dying to ask questions but Tikki shut her up again.

"He's fine. He's not hurt, and he's not in danger," Tikki interupted. Marinette clearly wanted to argue this but she held her tongue.

Marinette fetched a blanket for Plagg from the family living room, not that he needed one of course. Plagg was hardly speaking at all. On the verge of a mental breakdown, or already deep into one, Marinette decided it best to leave him be. But pretending he wasn't there wasn't very easy. She couldn't stop thinking about Chat Noir! How could he be okay if whatever had just happened gotten Plagg in such a miserable state!? Her stomach was beginning to feel ill for her thoughts. She found herself completely unable to sleep that night.

So, you might be wondering what Marc has been up to. Yeah, let's just move past the whole "Adrien is a sentimonster and he doesn't know it" ordeal real quick. That shits depressing. We could be doing more fun things so why would we focus on Adrien's life which could now burst at the seams any minute should he find out the truth.
