Adrian

I walk up to the entrance of the library with a slight tremble in my steps. I'm nervous and I can't hide it.

"You good?" Valentino asks from behind me.

"Yeah, all good. Just nervous," I say honestly.

"Don't be. Just go in there and use your charm," He says while flashing his teeth.

I roll my eyes as I slowly open up the doors to the library and hear the bell dinging as we walk in.

I look around for any sign of Taylor. But I can't find her.

"Over there," V suddenly says while pointing.

I follow his finger and see a beautiful blonde laying books upon books on a table. Even doing something so simple she looks so elegant.

What I would give to hold her in my arms again.

"What are you waiting for? Go," V says and shoves me in her direction.

I shake my head and hesitantly walk over to her.

"Taylor Scott," I say as I get within earshot of her.

She freezes as soon as her names leaves my mouth.

"Adrian. What are you doing here?" She says while staring at me with a stone cold expression.

"I- I wanted to see you," I finally stutter out.

"Well, the feelings one sided. What for?" She asks not looking up at me.

"Can I ask you to talk over some coffee sometime before you leave town again?" I ask her with a newfound confidence.

I swear a see a slight glimmer of joy in her eyes but it quickly fades.

"I don't think my boyfriend would agree to that," She says finally.

"Good thing I'm asking you and not him then," I reply sternly.

I'm met with a response of silence so I add on to my sentence.

"Besides, what's with this cold energy? We were joking around the other night," I say with a huff.

"First and foremost, Gomez, I was drunk. And if you want to know what's with this "cold energy" it's my girlfriend up and leaving me with no reason and just completely ghosting me," She responds while looking me directly in the eye.

I look at my feet as I take in her response. She's right. I up and left her without warning.

"Taylor, if you just give me a chance I can," I try to reply.

"I have a boyfriend now. I also have a book signing to get ready for," She cuts me off with.

"Oh please it's not like you love him the way that you love me," I say while rolling my eyes.

I don't give her a chance to respond. I turn on my heels and storm out of the library.

I pass by Valentino on the way out and he catches up to me outside.

"Woah woah, what's up?" He says to me.

"Nothing. I just want to go beat something or someone," I say with anger.

"Alright. We can definitely do that," He replies and tells the driver a location.

"You need to be more careful and actually ice your side this time," the family doctor says to me as I sit on the bed.

"Yes sir," I say while saluting him.

"I mean it, Chapo," He says sternly.

He gives me one final look before leaving my room and closing the door behind him.

Valentino and I decided to go do some jobs that needed to be done for the family and I got a bit jostled in the middle of them.

Nothing a Gomez can't handle.

I wince as I place the ice on my bruised up side and reach for my phone.

Taylor put her number in my phone the night we saw each other. Maybe she'll text me eventually.

I go on Instagram and type in her handle. I see her latest posts about the book signing. It seems like it went well.

Then I see a picture of her and her boyfriend. Disgusting.

I throw my phone at the ground.

The throw held a lot of anger. Anger that was caused by me. I wouldn't be in this situation if I would've just stayed.

I would still be with Taylor if I would've just stayed.

Sure, I have everything I could ask for. But I don't have her.

Suddenly, the door bursts open.

"Yo what was that?" V says while looking around.

"Sorry, it was my phone," I say sheepishly while rubbing the back of my neck.

He looks down at my now shattered phone and looks back to me.

"You're all good. Don't worry," He says to me.

He walks in my room and comes to sit on the bed next to me.

"Are you okay? Like actually fine?" He asks me with a look in his eyes I've only seen when he was talking serious.

"Yeah man I'm always fine. Ladies can't get enough of me," I say while wiggling my eyebrows.

He slaps my side making me wince.

"You know what I mean," He replies.

"Ouch," I say while holding my side, "Yes man, i'm okay. Don't worry about me."

I pat his back and smile at him.

"Alright, I believe you," He says while getting up and sighing, "I'll take this to the trash for you and get Enzo to bring a new one by."

"Thank you, V. For everything," I say to him.

"No need man," He replies and walks out of my room.

I stare at the door in silence as I contemplate every decision I've ever made in my life.

It seems like I was just in high school. Only ever worrying about trying to get Taylor to fall in love with me.

Now I have to worry about trying to get her to fall back in love with me.
