I never stopped to think about what my actions could cause other people or how they could hurt other people.
Instead I was just always selfish and thought about myself. I should've thought about Taylor when I up and left.
Should've, could've, would've.
There's not a day that goes by that I don't regret leaving. I regret it everyday.
And now that Taylor is back in my life by dumb luck, I will not let her go this time.
I look at my watch on my wrist and back down to the table at the coffee shop. Taylor has asked me to meet her here for coffee.
She should be here within the next few minutes.
I look outside the windows and see my bodyguards patiently sitting in a nearby table and looking around in case somebody tries anything.
I take a sip of my coffee and tap my fingers on the table.
Then I hear the door open and look up to see Taylor looking beautiful as ever walking in.
But then I see the most disgusting looking man walking behind her.
Must be her boyfriend.
I can't help but to turn my face in disgust as I watch them go up to the counter to order.
I get up and walk towards Taylor to greet her.
"Hey, Scott. Did you ever sleep last night?" I ask her with a smile.
She turns to me and opens her mouth to speak but this disgusting excuse of a man decides to talk.
"Yes. She did," He says with a scowl while looking at me up and down.
"Feeling intimidated?" I say with a grin while towering over him.
He doesn't say another word and just rolls his eyes while walking to the table I was just at.
He sits down in his chair without even waiting to pull out a chair for Taylor. Where are your manners?
"So now that Mr. No Manners has sat down, how are you today?" I say while turning to Taylor.
"I'm okay. You just saw me like a few hours ago," She responds while grabbing her coffee.
"Well, a lot can change," I say and lead her to her table.
I instinctively pull out her chair for her and wink at her boyfriend before sitting down in my own seat.
"Why'd you want to meet Taylor for coffee," The creature asks me.
I huff and roll my eyes at the sound of his voice.
"Because I wanted to catch up," I reply dryly.
"Well go ahead and catch up. I have things to do," He says and puts an arm around Taylor.
"Good thing I want to talk to Taylor and not you then," I say feigning a smile.
I stare at him for a few seconds before finally speaking again, "Anyways, I'm just going to pretend he's not here. Taylor, I have this meeting I have to attend and I need a "partner" to attend with me. I would enjoy it if you went with me."
I look at her with hopeful eyes but maintaining a confident posture and smile.
Taylor tries to speak but is cut off by the creature again, "Actually she would not like to."
Okay, I've had enough.
"Does Taylor have a mouth?" I ask him with anger in my eyes.
He looks at her like a dumbass and nods.
"Does she speak?" I ask him.
He repeats what he just did again.
"Okay then. Stop fucking treating her like an object and let her speak for herself damnit," I say and slam my hands on the table.
Just as I do that, my bodyguards come over to me, "Everything okay, Chapo?"
"As long as he stays in line, yes," I reply while fixing my eyes on him.
My bodyguards look at her boyfriend with angry eyes, "You wouldn't want to cause any problems now would you?"
He just looks at his coffee and stays quiet.
"Now. Where were we?" I say while fixing the collar of my button up.
I see Taylor trying to stifle a laugh and looking at me with grateful eyes.
"Oh yes, I was asking you to attend a meeting with me," I say with a smile.
"It depends if my boyfriend is okay with it," She says.
"Well, I'm sure he is, right Calvin Oliver Miller?" I look at him with a smile and gesture over to my bodyguards and who are now standing at the table, ready to do anything at my command.
"Yeah. That's fine babe," He says with a shaky voice.
"Great," I reply with a clap of my hands.
"Then yes. I'll go," Taylor responds and I feel my heartbeat quickening at a pace it hasn't been at since high school.
"I'll text you the details then, Scott," I say while standing up to leave.
"Thank you for meeting me here," I say and softly grab her hand.
She stands up with a smile and looks at me, "I hope it's worth it."
I look at her up and down, "I promise, I'll make it worth it."
She smiles at me and Calvin is hurriedly walking out the door.
"You might want to get your boyfriend. I think I scared him a bit," I say to her with a chuckle.
"Eh he'll be fine. I'll call you if there's any issues," She says and leaves the shop.
"I hope you do," I whisper to myself.
God. I'm still lovestruck by her.
I can't wait to have her by my side for this meeting.
