Jaehyun and Woonhak tried to be as slow as possible as they had to separate from each other, since the school day was over. They obviously didn't take the same way home, which was quite a disappointing thing for them.
Jaehyun did what he always does when he walked home. He put on his headphones and started walking away. He tried to be as covered as possible from the rain.
The weather was decent the whole day, except now and during break and lunch time. So basically, any time that he was outside, it was pouring.
His clothes were starting to stick onto his skin. He hated the texture quite a lot, but he couldn't call either of his parents to come get him. Plus the walk home wasn't that long, it was just a short fifteen minute walk. With music, it felt much shorter.
He thought the rain stopped when no more drops fell on him for around half a minute. He decided to look up, hoping the sun was staring at him. But instead of clear blue skies, he just saw a huge black fabric over him.
He furrowed his brows, trying to understand what it could possibly be. It wasn't until he turned to his left that he noticed that it was nothing paranormal. But it still did scare him shitless.
"Woonhak-ah! You scared me so badly!" He exclaimed, shaking him with a light chuckle. Although he slightly sounded mad, he was being fully playful. Woonhak understood that as he didn't react in any particularly strong way.
Once Jaehyun had gotten over the initial shock of Woonhak's presence, he went completely quiet. Both of them were fully silent. But there were no awkward tensions at all. They were extremely comfortable with each other currently. Well, like always, that was just their friendship dynamic.
No matter what, they loved spending time. Whether that be in a loud setting or silent, they'd do anything to be together.
As they arrived at Jaehyun's house, a huge wave of panic came over him. He realised that his parents were home. They would most definitely be fighting. For a couple of seconds he looked at the door handle, hesitating to open it. But after a couple of seconds, he realised that both of his parents were still at work.
With that, he let out a relieved sigh before opening the door. Once leading Woonhak to his room, he realised that he had to come clean about his current familial situation.
"Woonhak-ah.." He looked at the floor, then looked at Woonhak in the eyes. He took a deep breath.
The younger boy scooted closer to him, and took his hand. He squeezed it tightly, as a way to let Jaehyun know that he could talk about what was happening to him.
"Do you ever wonder why I spend so much time at your house?" He asked, he felt a lump in his throat form. Woonhak thought for a couple of seconds. He shook his head, he never even realised how often Jaehyun was over at his house.
"That's because my parents, well.. they fight a lot" He said, trying his best to not cry, he didn't want to bother Woonhak by bursting into tears for the thousandth time that week.
Woonhak paused for a couple of seconds, thinking of what to do or say. He got even closer to Jaehyun and embraced him in a warm and comforting hug.
"I'm here for you"
