The weeks went by.

Quinn's first birthday was today.

Sorscha and Clodagh were both excited and in full swing organising the birthday party.

After much deliberation, they decided to have the party at their house and not at Mimi and Rick's.

They were still living separately.

However, the therapy with Jane brought significant progress.

Sorscha's nightmares became fewer and fewer and she hadn't had a flashback for a long time.

And Clodagh was slowly able to come to terms with her feelings of guilt.

"So Mimi's getting Quinn from the Nursery now. Have we got everything?" asked Clodagh.

Sorscha gave her a thumbs up with her left hand. The plaster was finally off.

"My dad should be here soon. Autumn and Winter are already on their way. Marjorie and Reece will be a little later. Charlotte is taking her children to her ex-husband, but she should make it on time," Sorscha said.

The party was lovely. Clodagh had baked a cake, which Quinn ate, but most of it was spread on the floor.

Sorscha hadn't seen her friends for a long time and it was nice to have a proper chat with them again.

Clodagh was making coffee when Autumn joined her.

"You look well Clodagh."

" Thank you, I'm doing really well too."

" Good to hear. The birthday is really nice. I hope you like the present for Quinn," Autumn said.

Clodagh nodded. " Thank you very much Autumn. And thank you too for giving Sorscha a piece of your mind. Even if it cost us a front door." She couldn't help but laugh a little.

" No problem."

It was getting late. Everyone said their goodbyes. Mimi and Rick took Quinn with them, as she had already fallen asleep.

Clodagh wanted to help Sorscha tidy up.

She carried the clutter into the kitchen. While Sorscha cleaned it.

"Thank you, I can do it myself now," said Sorscha. "You can go home."

"Ok, then I wish you a good night." Clodagh smiled at her.

Sorscha smiled too. "Good night."

Clodagh left the kitchen through the side door into the corridor and was almost at the front door.

Her hand was already on the door handle, but something stopped her.

Sorscha waited to hear the front door, but nothing happened. She stood with her back to the kitchen door and nervously played with a plate in her hand.

Silence, neither of them moved.

Sorscha put the plate down. She should go and see what was going on. But she didn't dare to move.

Clodagh slowly let go of the door handle.

"Sorscha...."

Sorscha heard a soft whisper behind her. She couldn't even turn around completely before Clodagh's lips met hers. At first she was startled and didn't know what to do. But then she returned the kiss.

Clodagh had placed both her hands on Sorscha's cheeks.

While Sorscha's hands had slowly settled on Clodagh's hips.

After what felt like an eternity, they both pulled back, both a little breathless.

They just looked at each other. Deep brown met light green and white.

"I love you..." Clodagh whispered.

"I love you too."

Sorscha carefully pulled her closer to her and gave her a grin. "Does that mean you're staying tonight?"

Clodagh couldn't help but to roll her eyes dramatically. " Oh shut up and kiss me!"

They moved it to the bedroom.

Clodagh pushed Sorscha onto the bed and then sat on her lap.

Sorscha straightened up and began to kiss her neck.

It had been so long since they had been this close. It had felt like a lifetime.

Clodagh ran her hands under Sorscha's jumper. And pulled it over her head.

The irish woman grabbed her hips and with one movement she was on top of her. Sorscha slid one of her hands up the other woman's hips and then under the shirt.

She carefully pulled it over Clodagh's head and then just looked at her for a moment.

"You will always be the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. " Sorscha whispered, leaning down and giving her a kiss.

The soft sunlight fell on Clodagh's face. She immediately felt a shiver run down her back, as it was not covered. She turned round and reached over to the other side of the bed. Empty.

Clodagh looked up. No one was lying next to her.

She raised her eyebrow sceptically, then stood up and quickly pulled a dressing gown over her naked body.

She found Sorscha in the kitchen. Standing at the cooker in her boxer shorts and top.

Clodagh carefully put her arms around her from behind. And pressed her face into her back.

"Did you sleep well, babe?"

Babe. How long had it been since Clodagh had heard that pet name.

"Still a little tired, darling."

Clodagh felt Sorscha's heart skip a beat.

"Well then, I hope you're hungry. I've made eggs and bacon," said Sorscha.

"How many have you burnt already?" Clodagh asked playfully.

"Don't ask."
