Jungkook's frustration with the case reached new heights as his search for Mark turned up nothing. It was as if the person named Mark didn't exist at all. Just as he was heading to interrogate Minghao again, a message arrived that would change the course of the investigation.

The message detailed a woman's claim that she had witnessed Sana's murder. However, there was a significant catch—she was a known scammer with a dubious background. Despite this, Jungkook agreed to her terms: drop all charges against her in exchange for her testimony.

In the interrogation room, Jungkook studied the woman's body language carefully. Her nervous demeanor and fidgety movements raised immediate suspicions. It was clear that the presence of law enforcement made her uneasy.

As Jungkook probed deeper, the woman began to weave a story implicating Kim Taehyung, Sana's ex-boyfriend. According to her account, Taehyung still harbored feelings for Sana and couldn't bear to see her with Minghao. He had begged Sana to meet him one last time at his workshop.

"At first, they were talking," the woman recounted, her voice shaky. "But then Taehyung became angry. He demanded that Sana come back to him. She tried to reason with him, but he lost control. He slammed her head against the wall in a fit of rage. He was going to do it again and again."

The chilling details sent a shiver down Jungkook's spine. "What happened next?" he prompted, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside him.

"In a moment of panic, Taehyung threw her into the riverside," the woman continued. "He threatened us to keep quiet about what happened. We were all part of the same gang, and he made it clear that we would face consequences if anyone talked."

Jungkook listened intently, weighing the woman's words against what he knew of Taehyung. It was a shocking turn of events, but he couldn't ignore the possibility that she might be telling the truth.

"Why are you coming forward now?" Jungkook asked, searching for any sign of deception.

The woman looked down, guilt evident on her face. "I couldn't live with myself knowing what happened to Sana," she admitted quietly. "I had to tell the truth, even if it meant facing the consequences."

Jungkook knew he needed to verify her story thoroughly. If Taehyung was indeed responsible for Sana's murder, it would bring closure to a case that had haunted him from the beginning. He excused himself from the interrogation room and immediately began coordinating with his team to gather evidence and bring Taehyung in for questioning.

As he worked tirelessly to piece together the final elements of the puzzle, Jungkook felt a mixture of determination and relief. The truth was finally within reach, and he was prepared to pursue it until justice was served for Sana.
