To say she was nervous would be an understatement. Taylor had spent the morning showering, styling her hair like Barry had shown her to , putting on the make up Sabrina ha given her and taking a long time deciding on an outfit. this was her first day as Travis official fiancé and she was going to meet his family for the first time.
She was easily the most terrified of meeting Donna, his mom. She would be the most critical, mothers always were because they had that instinct to protect their kids. Her mother had had that too but she hadn't seen her in so long now.
Taylor had opted for a simple white dress, playing into the roll of the soon to be bride, when she walked down the stairs to where Travis was already waiting to take her to the jeweler. The placeholder ring was already on her finger, twinkling in the light, large on her slender fingers.
Travis watched her intently, not letting any emotion show on his face but he couldn't deny how beautiful this young woman was. Her hair fell over her shoulders and surrounded her like a halo and god he could already imagine her as a bride walking down the aisle.
"ready to go kitten?" he asked , keeping his hands behind his back when she reached the bottom of the stairs. No one except for them was in the house so there was no reason for them to touch or more exactly for him to touch her and after what she had been through he had decided he wouldn't initiate any touch if they were alone.
Even if she was being forced to marry him, even if she didn't have any kind of choice in this matter, he wouldn't take her choice when it came to touching him.
She raised her perfectly plugged brows at him, a soft blush creeping onto her cheeks. "kitten?"
"yeah, you take two in and now you're my kitten, let's move along I don't wanna be late" This was one of those things that confused her about Travis. He had this kind side of his. Deep down he had the biggest heart and if you managed to get him to open up you could see its infinitively extendable size. But then again he was so incredibly cold if he wanted to, shutting out people for seemingly no reason.
On the car ride Travis gave in , noticing Taylors desperate longing glances at the radio and handed her his phone. "no punk, goth or electro, no techno, no classics"
Her heart skipped a beat as she looked up the playlist from her old life on Spotify starting it. god she almost cried when she heard the tunes again. It reminded her of what happened before john, of the way her life could still have been if she didn't fall for his fucking act.
Soon they pulled into the driveway of an expensive looking jewelry store. Taylor didn't even try to get out of the car before Travis opened her door for her and helped her out of it, throwing the keys at the employe and guided her by the small of her back into the large store.
They were immediately greeted with a horde of employees but Travis just made a swatting gesture as if to pry away some flies and they parted like the red sea. "bring us to the maestro." He demanded and immediately one of the young women stepped forward "follow me please"
They were guided through the whole store and Taylors eyes scanned over the various masterpieces of jewelry set with diamonds, sapphires, rubies and more.
God how rich were these people. Through a hidden entry way the young woman guided them into a studio. Other than in the store the walls weren't hung with large tapestries and paintings, the floors weren't marble and no one wore black tie.
Taylor liked this room a lot more. The floor was raw, the tabled were cluttered in working materials and there were plans and papers everywhere. Someone worked here. Not just sold stuff or redid batteries but genuine creation, she could just feel it.
