Chapter - 16

POV Evan

"Bella.. baby.. wake up" I tapped on her cheek lightly. I'm so fucking worried right now. Those bastards will have to pay for each and every hurt, they caused to my wife.

"Mr Knight let's take her to the hospital" said one of the police officer. They  have detained both the culprits. One was sent to the hospital as he was   shot.

I lifted her up in both of my arms, I was constantly trying to call her to make her awake.

We reached to the hospital in 10 minutes. Doctor's team was already ready to receive us.

Doctor took Bella inside to check upon her. While she was away, a second feels like an eternity to me. Even now, she is undergoing treatment, I'm missing her like crazy. I just fucking want her in my arms.

After 15 minutes later, doctor came outside, I hurriedly asked them.

"How's my wife, doctor?"

"Oh she is fine, she lost her consciousness due to shock. We have given her a shot, she is sleeping."

"Thank you doctor"

I went inside to see her, she was sleeping soundly. I quickly made a call to my personal assistant, gave him few instructions. I didn't want to bother my dad with this matter, especially mom, she would be tense there.

I sat in the nearest chair, I raised my hand to caressed her cheek which was red due to slapped I guess. Those motherfuckers dared to touch her with their filthy hand.

I am planning their murder in the most gruesome way, but I will make sure they will suffer thousand times more.

I held Bella's palm in my hand, time to time kissing her knuckles. I was not scared before for anyone in my life. My heart clenched on the thought of  her disappearance.

I did not leave her side since two hours. Sometimes later she stirred up in her sleep.

"No.. no.. leave me please.. don't come closer... Please.. Evan.. Evan...." I saw her getting panic attack in her sleep.

I quickly got up, leaned towards her face and softly touch her cheek trying to wake her up.

"Bella, love, I'm here baby, get up, you're safe, its just a nightmare, get up baby". I started saying smoothening words in her ears.

Finally, she woke up. Thank god, I sighed in relief.

POV Author

Bella slowly opened her eyes, the first thing she saw Evan's worried face. She could faintly hear him calling her name.

First she thought whatever happened was just a nightmare but unfortunately it was all true. She raised her hand to touch Evan's face, Evan also grabbed her hand and kissed it multiple times.

She indicates Evan to come closer to her, Evan gladly compile to do so. When Evan sufficient near to her lips she whisper "take me out of here, please."

Evan looked at her, he kissed her forehead and nodded at her. Within a half n hour Evan completed all the hospital formalities and he scooped Bella in his arm and started to leave the hospital.

Bella was quite she didn't protested when Evan picked her up, she just laid her head on his chest, listening to his peaceful heartbeat.

They both got in the car, Evan made Bella sit onto his laps all the time, he wrapped his arm securely on her waist, making her feel safe. He was continuously running circles on her back and occasionally kissing her head.

The whole ride Bella didn't utter a  word, she want just staring outside of window. When they reached their hotel room, Evan laid Bella on bed gently, he removed the hair strands covering her face.
