Ever since Bobby and Juno's near kiss, things had been awkward. They hadn't held a conversation in two weeks, only the occasional nod or wave. When everyone had come round for a couple of drinks, the tension was obvious and they were determined to do something about it.Juno got a very random text from Maeve inviting her to go on a road trip. Just the two of them. They hadn't really spent much time together so she agreed and started to pack a bag ready to be picked up in the morning.
She paused what she was doing and realised she should probably let Bobby know about her not being in their shared apartment for a few days. She looked around every room for him but they were all empty.
She soon came to the conclusion that she'd have to leave a note on the kitchen side before she left.
The next morning had arrived and Juno was woken up by a loud horn practically screaming at her to get out of bed. She got dressed, wrote a note and grabbed her bag to leave but something caught her eye.
Bobby's door was still open from yesterday. She went into his room to find the same perfectly made bed. She'd also noticed a couple of his clothes missing.
Did their "moment" really make him leave? Juno thought to herself, feeling slightly worried about his whereabouts.
She shook the weird feeling off and left to go and meet Maeve, making sure to lock the door on her way out.
"Sleep well?" Maeve asked, music blaring from the speakers. It was way too early for this.
Juno didn't even bother answering the question and instantly started to speak, "have you seen Bobby?"
"He's at Eli's, they've got a gig coming up so they're practicing all week." Maeve explained, getting a nod in return.
She felt relieved and finally began to relax. "So, where exactly are we going?" She questioned.
"We're going camping!" Maeve announced enthusiastically, signalling that she'd already drank too much coffee.
Juno hated camping. When she was little, her family went to a campsite and their tent was invaded by cockroaches. Not something she wants to relive.
"Maeve! You know about my experience with camping." She whined, wishing to turn the car around so they could go back home.
The blonde laughed in response as they carried on with their road trip. It took about 4 hours to get to the campsite and once they arrived, Juno noticed a very familiar looking car outside. It can't be a coincidence.
This was followed on by a familiar face. Elijah fucking Hewson. "Maeve, what the hell?" She turned to her best friend who looked just as confused as her.
"Oh, wow. This is mind blowing!" Maeve said in a tone that was far from convincing.
It told Juno everything she needed to know. This was a set up. The brunette stormed over to Eli, who looked slightly anxious.
"Where is he?" She asked him. "He's here, isn't he?" She crossed her arms, watching as Eli pointed over to where people set up tents.
Her heart raced at the sight of a very familiar looking man kneeled down on the mud, building a Home Bargains looking tent.
"What are you doing?" Juno questioned, her arms still crossed.
Bobby flinched at the voice and got up to face her. "Uh, building a tent?" He stated the obvious.
"No, I meant what are you doing here?" She repeated. "I guess you could say I'm here to camp." He spoke sarcastically.
Suddenly the air went cold. "We're still cool, aren't we?" Juno asked him. "I know things are kind of awkward after what almost happened."
