The drive home was worse than expected. The constant bickering between Maeve and Eli was unbearable, you could cut the tension with a single knock.
"You're so full of yourself, it's sad." Maeve spoke harshly, her tone turning bitter.
"Me? Full of myself?" Elijah let out a sarcastic laugh. "You clearly haven't seen yourself."
She groaned loudly in annoyance, "how long until we're there?" Maeve asked her friend.
Juno quickly glanced over at the navigator. "About 20 minutes." She replied.
"20 minutes?" Maeve's eyes widened in shock. "I cannot sit here for that long with him!" She exclaimed, pointing at the guy beside her.
"Get the bus then." Eli suggested jokingly, getting a glare from the blonde girl.
Maeve rolled her eyes, leaning against the window in attempt to block him out. "Why don't you get the bus?" She questioned.
Just as he was about to respond, she cut him off. "And don't give me that shit on how you can't because of how famous you are."
"Timothèe Chalamet has done it loads of times and he's perfectly fine. The worse they'll do is cut your hair and sell it on EBay for a tenner." She light heartedly mocked him.
It was Eli's turn to roll his eyes. "I'm not him though, am I?"
"Clearly not." Maeve laughed, looking him up and down.
The car abruptly stopped, signaling that there was a red light, AKA the perfect time for Juno to get involved with their conversation.
"Your dad's are friends, why can't you guys get along?" She grew even more frustrated with the pair. "You're both nepo babies for God's sake!"
That comment caused Bobby to laugh, he turned to face Juno from the drivers seat and shook his head in a gesture of surprise at what she said.
Maeve gave Eli another harsh glare. "Fucking hell, mate, what did you do?" Bobby asked, looking at him through the mirror.
The car went silent instantly, the only thing heard was the sound of the radio playing some pop song from the charts.
Bobby then dropped Eli home after Maeve, leaving him and Juno driving back to the apartment together in silence.
"Do you think Maeve will tell you what happened?" Bobby broke the quietness, looking over at Juno.
"Maybe, I don't know." She replied, unsure of what was going to happen. "I've never seen her so upset. He must've said something bad to get her like this."
"Well, I'll ask him tomorrow, see if he tells me but at least now I know not to get on Maeve's bad side." He joked, trying to make the situation lighten up a bit.
Juno felt herself beginning to zone out, she couldn't stop thinking about tonight. Her and Bobby almost kissed. It was unexpected but she wasn't upset about it...
Did I want to kiss him? She asked herself. No, we're just friends! That's it. Nothing more. Wait, are we friends or just roommates that talk sometimes?
Shit, we almost kissed. This has got to be the best day of my life. Bobby smiled to himself.
