"Hope"
It was Monday, and since Mirae didn't have work that day she was simply sitting on her apartment couch while watching another reality show about celebrities. A new show that had recently aired was "BTS RUN" by Bulletproof Girls, Mirae liked it so far.
Soon enough her phone began to ring, on the ID was her cousin Jimin's picture when he was 4 years old alongside her. She smiled and turned off the volume of the TV before answering the phone.
"Minnie~!" Jimin giggled once answered, "How have you been? Hoseok told me you have a job now! So proud!" Jimin said, his thick Busan accent slipping through the phone line like water. The girl simply chuckled.
"Aah I've been good so far, how's Auntie? Is she still looking for that Internet Model she met last week?" She teased with a rised brow, too bad it couldn't be seen through the phone.
Jimin chuckled, "Aish, let her be!" A small laugh escaped from him throat, "By the way, do you....do you have any plans for Christmas this year?" He stuttered slightly, already a bad sign.
"Not really, why?" She tilted her head.
"Well...Wanna come to Busan? And stay at my place for Christmas? My mum misses you as if you were her kid and not me." He scoffed playfully. Mirae rolled her eyes with a grin.
"Sure, why not." She shrugged.
"Great! I'll come pick you up December 20th in the morning, remember that please!" As he spoke, Mirae travelled towards the small calendar she had in her kitchen and flipped the sheets of paper until it reached December to circle the designated date."You can bring your boyfriend if you want!" Jimin quickly added, to which, broke her smile instantly into a blank expression.
"About that," She sighed, "We broke up."
"That's a shame...Well, I never liked so," Jimin chuckled, the dark haired pixie didn't say anything.
"Mr. Park! We need you over here." A voice innthe background spoke, Jimin hummed in response.
"I need to go, I'll call you another time! Bye!" He hung up, leaving her in her thoughts again.
Mirae went back to the livingroom and laid on the couch, letting herself slowly close her eyes and sleep away the hunger she felt in her stomach. She didn't have the strength to do anything, nor did she have the strength to even stay awake, sleeping was her escape.
After a while, her eyes shot up and it was already night time. Her stomach rumbled loudly but she couldn't manage to stand up, until someone knocked on the door.
She sighed and slowly stood up, her blank expression soon enough filled up with euphoria when noticing who stood behind it.
"Hoseok!" She giggled while trapped in a tight bear hug."My beautiful baby! How are you doing my love?" He smiled softly, enough to melt her heart.
He had a messy mullet with light brown hair and blonde tips, he wore a black leather jacket with a black button up underneath with some baggy jeans of the same colour.
"Not good I'm afraid," Mirae chuckled nervously, Hoseok tilted his head with a small knowing smirk.
"Is it about that stupid ex of yours?" He closed the door behind him and wrapped an arm around her waist, his eyes ever so caring and warm.
"Yeah... I'm scared, I suppose." She said while down on the couch with him, she laid her head against the crook of his shoulder.
"Scared of moving on?"
"No." She sighed, "Of whatever he's planning next. He... He's been trying to text through everywhere, he even sent me letters in the mail with pictures of himself." She could feel Hoseok's grip around her waist tightening."Hey," he used his thumb to tilt her head upwards to look at him, "If you get another letter from him, tell me, and I'll take care of it. Okay, my love?" He asked with a soft smile.
The girl nodded, a few evident tears already building up on the corner of her eyes.
"Aish, don't cry! You're going to make me cry too!" Hoseok chuckled while kissing her forehead and cupping her face to wipe away her tears."Can you stay here tonight?" She asked with a smile, Hoseok bit his lower lip and shook his head, leading her smile to disappear.
"I'm sorry love, but I have an important client to attend tomorrow. And you know my dance studio is pretty far from your place." He said while nuzzling his nose against her's.
"Ah okay, maybe another time?" She raised a brow, the brown haired boy simply shrugged.
"I'll try getting a day off this Wednesday and then we can have our sleepover. Is that okay?" He smiled, Mirae nodded furiously.
"Have you eaten today?" She shook her head, receiving a deathly glare from him, "Aish! You have to eat you stupid girl! Stop sleeping so much!" He rolled his eyes.Hoseok stood up from the couch to make her some instant ramen she had tucked away in the cupboard, the girl sighed and wrapped her arms around his waist while one of her cheeks squished itself against his rock hard back.
"By the way..." She said, Hoseok hummed, "Wanna spend Christmas in Busan with me? It could be like what we used to do in highschool." She said, her nose slowly picking up on the strong smell of the ramen broth.
"Hmmm...I need to speak to my parents first. Maybe I can." He shrugged.
"Well, text me whenever you have your answer." She said, moving along with him while he platted the ramen had gestured her to sit back down on the couch. When she did, he carefully handed her the warm bowl with some metal chopsticks.
"Thank you Hobi!" She smiled, taking the chopsticks in her hand and slurping a few noodles.
"You're a kid sometimes you know that? I'll die of a heart attack one day if you ever pass out from hunger!" He pinched the side of her stomach and made her giggle away from him, he couldn't help but burst into a little fit of giggles of his own.
