"Theories."

Monday morning, Mirae called Jin and he told her that he would send Namjoon to answer some of her sudden questions, but due to Namjoon and Taehyung's feud they decided it was best to talk at the clinic.

"Oh! Miss Kang, you're not working today, am I wrong?" She was greeted by Soobin.

"You're correct, I actually came here to talk to--"

"Morning." Namjoon soon enough popped up behind her, he wore a black turtle neck tucked into some black leather pants and a few bandages over his face and neck. Soobin quickly bowed in sign of  respect.

"Namjoon Hyung, I thought you were in recovery...?" Soobin asked with a nervous smile  and hands behind his back as he fiddled with his fingers.

"Your Uncle told me to have a word with Miss Kang at the clinic today. Don't worry." Namjoon showed his cute dimple smile at the nervous boy, he eventually returned with a much relieved smile and went back to his previous position.

"So..." Mirae cleared her throat awkwardly, "How should I start this?"

"Let's talk at the back." Namjoon pointed at the  hidden door that led to the back of the building. Mirae nodded and followed after him.

"So?" Namjoon's ears  flicked when coming into contact with the new environment and leaned against the brick wall in front of them.

"I've got some new information about Taehyung, but I needed to consult you first to make sure my theory is correct." Said Mirae.

"Go on..." Namjoon narrowed his eyes while his usual strand of pink hair managed to fall once more in front of his eyes.

"You've said Government Hybrids don't feel anything because of the metal collars, right?"

"I did." Namjoon nodded.

"Do these types of collars change colour? The little light...?" Mirae asked while trying her best to describe it with her hands, Namjoon's ears flicked upwards.

"It changed colours? What did you do?" He frowned and took a few steps closer to her, Mirae frowned and began to step away nervously.

"I-I didn't do anything. It just happened!" She said while looking away.

Namjoon noticed her and how uncomfortable she looked, he took a deep breath and stepped away and leaned his back against the brick wall.
"Do you have any idea what might've happened?"

"No....No not really." Mirae blinked while trying to remember everything from the last few days.

"What happened before that?" Namjoon inquired.

"I was uh...I was watching Tv and I sort of forgot to eat...and uh...I went to check on him and his collar was green." Said Mirae while fiddling with her fingers.

"You forgot to eat." Namjoon repeated with raised brows, confused.

"Yeah..." Mirae cleared her throat, "Anyways, he was crying and asking me why I left him by himself the whole da." She added.

Namjoon's ears pointed upwards again, his face growing with a frown while his lips parted slightly in shock, he couldn't help but let a slight scoff.

"He was crying." He repeated and looked down at the ground while in thought.
"That's....well--" He sighed as a smile erupted across his lips, "That means that the factory gave him up! We can do whatever with him now." He said with a grin.

"Because it flashed green?" Mirae frowned.

"Yeah! When it's green, it means that the collar isn't functioning at its fullness, which gives us an opportunity to safely take it off!" He shrugged.

"What if it went back to red...?" Mirae mumbled, getting Namjoon's smile to suddenly drop on the spot.

"What?" He raised his brows again.

"It was green...and after a while it went back to red and he was...you know." Said Mirae while trying to imitate the hybrid's blank expression from the other night.

Namjoon frowned again, his face turning slightly pale as he continued to think, he eventually let out a defeated sigh.
"Look," he said, "If it happens again, tell us right away. I don't know why that's happening, but I'll make sure to look it up somewhere." He went to pat her on the shoulder but she stepped away.

"Ok..." Mirae cleared her throat, "I'm going home now." She bowed and left.

Namjoon sighed and ran a hand through his pink locks, scratching the tip of one of his ears as he made his way back inside the clinic. Soobin smiled when noticing him enter but it soon enough dropped when meeting Namjoon's pained expression.

"Something wrong?" Soobin asked.

"Ah uh... It's about your Uncle's project. Don't worry." He patted him on the back, "I'm going home as well, is everything going okay by the way?" He asked while shoving his hands into the back pockets of his black leather pants.

"Yeah! The hybrids of the main area have been a little mean though, they miss you." Soobin sighed, Namjoon nodded.

"Well...," Namjoon sighed, "I'm coming back this Wednesday. So don't worry, just hang in there." Namjoon wrapped an arm around his shoulders and squeezed him. Soobin blushed shyly with a grin.

"Thanks, hyung." Soobin said.
" No worries kid." Namjoon chuckled.
