I wake up around twelve in the morning and I feel too tired to do anything. Apart of me knows that I should probably get up and brush my teeth and shower or at least reply to one of these texts that keeps waking me up every time I try and doze back off.

I'm half tempted to throw it at the wall but I don't have the energy for that. Instead I roll over and attempt to drown out the noise with my pillow. Sandwiching myself between the pillow helps for about a minute until I hear the muffled binging sound again.

I let out a groan as I grab my phone and turn it off. Laying my head back down I close my eyes. Letting myself fall back in to sweet slumber. I almost get a chance to drift back to sleep until there comes a loud banging on the door, quite obnoxiously I might add.

I pull the covers back with the a deathly glare on my face as I stomp to the door and unlock it. I yank the door open while yelling, "What?"

I freeze when I see it's Jessica, but she doesn't seem a bit bothered by my tone of voice as she rolls her eyes. "Your friends been calling," she pushes the home phone in my hand and walks away.

I shake my head as I put the phone to my ear with a tired "Hello?"

"Well look who finally decides to answer the phone."

"Roxanne?" I question as I let out a yawn.

"It's good to know you still remember my name. Just not how to pick up a phone and call me I'm guessing."

"I was supposed to call?"

"Duh!" she yells and I have to pull the phone away from my ear for a second. "I mean if phone calls aren't your thing you could've texted, written, telegraphed, or sent smoke signals or something."

I laugh and I can feel her scowl from miles away. "I'm sorry."

"You bet your bottom dollar you're sorry. I have-"

I burst out in to laughter completely cutting her off mid-sentence, "Leaping lizards! Roxanne I am truly sorry for my absent-mindedness, but I can assure you that the sun will come out tomorrow."

She gives me a mock, "Ha-ha." And I let out a small giggle as she practically growls at me. "Annie wasn't the first or last time that phrase was used."

"Of course not. Roxanne Lockwood is out in the world using the the phrase."

She lets out a groan, "Anyways, the point is you're supposed to call and let your best friends know you're not dead."

I let her words sink in because I haven't been called someones best friend in years. Heck I don't even know if Charlie and I are friends. I've only known Roxanne a week, but I do feel like her and Beth are my closest friends. Plus in the short amount of time I've known her she never once made me feel like I was the odd one out coming in to the group.

"Hello?" Roxanne asks from the other line.

"Sorry, I'm here."

"I'd tell you to stop apologizing if I wasn't slightly mad at you and your forgetfulness." I roll my eyes even though she can't see me. "So how'd things go with Graham?"

I want to ask her why she would ask me about him, but I remember how concerned she was about me. "Um... things went well actually." I bite my lip remembering Graham telling me he was single. "We hung out for a bit and then he drove me home." I pause. "Along with Charlie and Crystal of course, but it was a great night."

"That sounds horrible," Roxanne says. My eyes go wide in shock. I thought the night went well, I mean yeah the car ride was silent apart from the radio and Charlie's humming. But talking to him was great and when he walked me to my door. That was nice too and-
