Jennifer's POV

The buzz of the Bahrain paddock was still echoing in my ears as I lay on my hotel bed, staring at the ceiling. I couldn't stop smiling. The energy, the noise, the sheer thrill of being part of an F1 race was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. But what made it truly special was sharing it all with Oscar.

Growing up, Oscar had always been my hero. He was five years older than me and had a single-minded focus on racing from a young age. I remember watching him in karting competitions, his face set in determination, and thinking he was the coolest person in the world. Despite his busy schedule, he always made time for me, teaching me about racing and encouraging my interests, no matter how different they were from his own.

Now, being here with him, I felt like I was part of his world in a way I'd never been before. Watching him race, seeing the pride in his eyes when he introduced me to his teammates and fellow drivers, it was all a dream come true. It made the decision to take a gap year and join him at the circuit seem like the best choice I'd ever made.

I turned over and reached for me phone, scrolling through the photo's I'd taken over the past few days. There was one of Oscar and me, standing in front of his car, both of us grinning from ear to ear. I set it as my wallpaper, a constant reminder of this incredible adventure.

Oscar walked into the room, interrupting my thoughts. "Hey, you still up?"

"Yeah, just thinking about today. It was amazing," I said, sitting up. "I can't believe I'm actually here with you."

He smiled, sitting on the edge of my bed. "I'm glad you're here, Jen. It's nice having you around. Makes the whole thing feel a bit more grounded, you know?"

"I know what you mean," I said. "It's like I get to see a different side of you, the side that's usually hidden away under all the helmets and race suits."

He chuckled, ruffling my hair. "Well, don't get too used to it. Once the season kicks into high gear, it's going to be nonstop."

"I'm ready for it," I said confidently. "I want to be here for all of it, the good and the bad."

"Just promise me one thing," he said, looking serious for a moment. "If it ever gets too much, you'll tell me. I don't want you feeling overwhelmed or out of place."

"I promise," I said, touched by his concern. "But I think I'll be just fine."

The next morning, we headed to the circuit early. The sun was barely up, casting a soft glow over the paddock. There was a peacefulness in the early hours, a quiet before the storm of race day activities. As we walked, Oscar filled me in on the plan for the day, his excitement palpable.

"Think you'll ever get tired of this?" I asked, taking in the sights and sounds around us.

"Never," he said without hesitation. "Every race is different, every challenge new. It's what I love about it."

"I can see why," I said, feeling a pang of envy. "You're really living the dream."

"You can live yours too, Jen," he said, stopping to look at me. "This year is about finding what makes you happy, what drives you. Just like racing does for me."

His words stuck with me throughout the day. I watched him interact with his team, his confidence and passion evident in everything he did. It inspired me to think about what I wanted, what would make me feel as alive as he did on the track.

In between the practice sessions, I wandered around the paddock, meeting people and soaking in the atmosphere. Everyone was so welcoming, eager to share their experiences and stories. It felt like a family, a community bound by a shared love for racing. And for the first time in a long time, I felt like I belonged.

That evening, we had dinner together in the hotel restaurant. As we talked and laughed, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for time with Oscar. Our lives have always been busy, with him traveling and me studying, but now we had this rare opportunity to reconnect and strengthen our bond.

"Thanks for letting me tag along, Osc," I said, clinking my glass against his. "I know it wasn't in your plans, but it means a lot to me."

He smiled, a warmth in his eyes that made my heart swell. "It means a lot to me too, Jen. Having you here makes it all more special."

As I drifted off to sleep that night, I thought about the journey ahead. There would be challenges, no doubt, but there would be moments of pure joy and excitement. And through it all, I knew I had Oscar by my side, my brother, my hero, and my best friend.
