Jennifer's POV
The idea of expanding our family had been lingering in the back of my mind for months now, growing stronger with each passing day. As Lando and I hosted a small gathering at our Monaco home, surrounded by friends and their children, I found myself observing him with a new perspective.
He had always been wonderful with kids—playful yet gentle, patient yet full of boundless energy that seemed to ignite their laughter and excitement. Watching him chase our friend's toddler around the living room, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of him as a father.
Later that evening, after our guests had left and we settled into the quiet of our home, Lando turned to me with a knowing look in his eyes. "Have you been thinking more about what we talked about?" he asked softly, his voice laced with curiosity and hope.
I took a deep breath, my heart beating a little faster as I met his gaze. "Yeah," I admitted, a surge of warmth spreading through me. "I've been thinking about it a lot, actually. And... I think I'm ready."
Lando's face lit up with a mixture of joy and relief, and he reached out to take my hand. "Really?" he murmured, his voice filled with a tender excitement that mirrored my own feelings. "Jen, that's amazing. I've been hoping you'd say that."
We sat together on the couch, bathed in the soft glow of the lamplight, our fingers intertwined as we shared our dreams for the future. I talked about the joy I imagined in raising a child with him, the way I pictured our home filled with laughter and love.
"I want our children to grow up knowing how much they're loved," I said softly, leaning my head against his shoulder. "And I can't imagine anyone better to share this journey with than you, Lando."
He kissed the top of my head, his touch gentle and reassuring. "I feel the same way, Jen," he whispered, his voice filled with a quiet certainty. "You and me, starting our family—it's everything I've ever wanted."
In the weeks that followed, we navigated the intricacies of planning for parenthood—discussing our careers, our support systems, and envisioning what our family might look like. We talked about the values we wanted to instill in our children, the adventures we hoped to share with them, and the challenges we knew we would face together.
As we stood in our kitchen one evening, preparing dinner together and sharing stories from our day, I felt a sense of excitement and anticipation building within me. The road ahead was filled with unknowns, but with Lando by my side, I knew that we were ready for this new chapter in our lives.
"Are you nervous?" Lando asked gently, handing me a chopping board with a smile. "About all of this?"
I chuckled softly, meeting his eyes with a loving gaze. "A little," I admitted honestly. "But mostly, I'm just excited. Excited to see where this journey takes us, and to watch our family grow."
He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close as we stood together in the warmth of our kitchen. "Me too, Jen," he murmured, pressing a kiss to my forehead. "Me too."
Inthat moment, surrounded by the love and support of our friends, and feeling thestrength of our bond, I knew that we were embarking on the greatest adventureof all—one filled with joy, challenges, and the infinite possibilities ofparenthood.
