I brought my legs to my chest, admiring the emerald leaves looming from the tree above me. Nature was my safe space, and so was this courtyard. It was one of my favourite places in the castle; minus my secret spot by the Black Lake of course."What are you doing?" Pansy asked, throwing her backpack on the floor and taking a seat next to me.
I sighed dramatically, dropping my pencil on my notebook. "Sketching a plant for the Herbology homework, did you know we have an exam coming up?"
"What?!" Pansy scoffed, "Your kidding."
"Unfortunately not."
I groaned in discomfort as I noticed a certain curly haired brunette walking toward us. None other than Mattheo Riddle himself. I hadn't seen him in awhile, he always had some kind of mysterious side quest he has to complete before he returned to class; none of us questioned it though, it's not that we didn't care, it's just that we didn't dare ask.
"Where've you been, Riddle?" I sighed, sending him a somewhat monotone expression.
"Wouldn't you like to know." He spat back, leaning in closer to me.
"Woah there-" I laughed, "3 steps back."
Mattheo threw his arms up in surrender, "My bad."
"Just a reminder," I spoke, pointing my index finger at his face, "I was drunk."
"Yeah, yeah, as was I." He sighed; taking a seat on the opposing side beside me.
"Good. I'm glad that's cleared up." I smiled fakely, slamming my notebook shut and looking to my right to look at Mattheo.
"Or is it...?" Mattheo smirked, inching his face closer to mine.
I rolled my eyes, deciding not to move in order to prove a point that I wasn't intimidated by him. He acts like he has a power over people; which he usually does, but with me it was the opposite way around.
"Riddle." Lorenzo breathed, suddenly appearing out of what seemed like thin air.
"Ah, Berkshire!" Mattheo grinned mercilessly, standing up abruptly and brushing leaves off his jeans.
"What's going on with you and Madison? You two seem quite comfortable." Lorenzo spoke, tilting his head.
"Well... Madison being the beautiful woman she i-" Mattheo begun, before I stood up quickly and exhaled.
"Mattheo." I replied, holding my wand against his chest and watching him smirk with amusement. I looked at his eyes, he was drunk. I mean, when wasn't he?
"Madison." Mattheo spoke deeply, running a hand through his curls and leaning in to kiss me again. I stepped backwards and watched him stumble infront of me.
Lorenzo immediately pushed him, "What's your problem mate?"
"Nothing." Mattheo replied, rubbing his head.
Lorenzo grabbed him by the collar, "Your drunk Mattheo. Leave Madison the fuck alone."
Pansy and I shared a look that read something a long the lines of 'What the hell is going on?'
Out of nowhere, Mattheo threw a punch at Lorenzo but narrowly missing, making Lorenzo clench his jaw in frustration and launch a hit into Mattheos cheek.
Me and Pansy gasped in shock, students stopped their conversations to watch the two throw eachother onto the ground.
Mattheo was now on the floor, Lorenzo throwing punches from above. I could hear audible voices chattering and gasping as Mattheo suddenly gained enough strength to get up and toss Lorenzo across the concrete.
"Mattheo what the fuck?!" I yelled, walking up to him and attempting to grab his shoulders to push him away from Lorenzo, still in disbelief that they were fighting over such a pathetic situation.
Big mistake.
Mattheo suddenly jolted his arm backward, hitting me in the head and forcing me to the ground, passed out.
