The next morning was the most bewildered I had felt in a long time. Memories of last nights conversation with Lorenzo bled and ached it's way into my brain. The confession, the way he spoke to me, the things he said; it felt straight out of some romance novel. It was everything I was craving him to say. I thoroughly believed it wasn't real. I mean, I must have been dreaming...right?

I felt the pounding of my alarm ringing beside me, making me jolt upward before turning it off and rubbing my eyes tiredly.

"Madison!" Pansy yelled excitedly, practically leaping onto my bed.

"Pansy..." I yawned, stretching my arms.

"So...?" She clapped, "How was it?"

I sent her a confused looks, finally opening my eyes and crossing my legs. "How was what?"

"You know..." she coughed, "your date with Cedric? I got back to the dorm and you were already asleep."

"Oh!" I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, "Yeah he uh... never showed up."

"What?"

"Yep. He was making out with Cho Chang in the courtyards." I scratched the back of my neck.

"Your fucking kidding me." Pansy spat, her expression more hurt than mine.

I shook my head, attempting to act upset, "Nope."

Pansy bit the inside of her cheek frustratedly, "That fucking bast-""

"It's fine. I'm over it." I lied through my teeth, still recalling the incidents of last night.

"How? You had a major crush on him for the entire of 3rd year?" She scoffed, "What do you mean your 'over it'?!"

I shrugged, "It wasn't that serious, I guess."

"Madison..." Pansy whispered; placing her hand on my leg. "I understand if your hurt, I won't judge you for it."

"No seriously," I nodded, "I'm fine, I don't care."

I hated lying to Pansy. I desperately wanted to blurt out that I was dating Lorenzo Berkshire and scream it in everybody's faces. It physically killed me inside to know I had to lie to her like this because god knows how she'd react. It was practically world renowned that Lorenzo and Draco were exceedingly close friends who wouldn't dare break each others trust, and here I was breaking Pansys.

"If you say so..." Her eyes flickered at me with a hint of suspicion, sending shivers directly down the depths of my spine.

I nodded, watching as Pansy got up from my bed and walked toward the bathroom before stopping in her tracks and turning around abruptly.

"Wait a minute..." She spoke, holding her pointer finger upward. "How did you know he was making out with Cho Chang?"

I gulped, desperately scrambling my brain for an excuse that didn't bring up the subject of a certain brunette.

"I saw them in the courtyards." I spoke.

"I thought you said he was meeting you in our dorm?"

"After he didn't show up for an hour, I went to find him. I was on my way to the Hufflepuff commons rooms when I saw them making out." I buried my hands in my lap.

"The Hufflepuff common rooms are on the other side of the school." Pansy furrowed an eyebrow, inching closer to me intimidatingly.

Fuck.

"I uhm- I went to find Mattheo first before that though, I wanted to ask if he'd seen Cedric since I know they were close last year." I lied.

"Oh." Pansy nodded, "You and Mattheo are talking again?"

"Mhm." I smiled lightly, "I cant hold grudges forever."

That I wasn't lying about.

"I'm sorry for not believing you." Pansys gaze met the floor, her eyes laced with guilt.

The worst part was is that she had every right not to believe me, I was lying. Straight to her face.

"Don't be." I stood up, "It sounds suspicious; I know. I just got over my adolescent crush on Cedric, he's a year older than me anyway."

Pansy nodded, "Okay. We should probably get ready for breakfast, it starts in 30 minutes."

I nodded back at her; turning toward the direction of the bathrooms.
