"What lesson have we got first?" I spoke, glancing up at Pansy whilst taking another bite of cereal.

"Ancient ruins." She sighed.

"My least favourite, great." I laughed lightly, placing my hand on my chin and looking toward the direction of the entrance to the great hall.

And low and behold, Blaise, Theo, Draco and Lorenzo enter the room; heading toward the table.

Lorenzos hair was still wet, a slight wave on the roots of his hair as his white button up tightened against his arms due to the dampness of what I guessed to be a shower, and a loose Slytherin tie falling just beneath his collar.

I took a minute to breathe and immediately looked away; I was already flustered and I hadn't even talked to him yet.

I cleared my throat, crossing my arms over the table and narrowed my eyes to my cereal; avoiding eye contact at whatever cost possible.

"Morning." Draco spoke, sitting beside me and grabbing a piece of toast in the centre of the table.

"Morning. How'd you sleep?" I yawned, watching as Theo and Blaise sat down beside Pansy.

"Theo was snoring loud as fuck." Draco spat, "And Lorenzo got back past curfew and wouldn't tell us where he went."

I gulped, watching as Lorenzo took a seat directly infront of me, avoiding eye contact but watching as he smirked slightly at his intentions.

"Oh." I nodded, "Yeah I didn't sleep well either."

"How was your date with Cedric?" Blaise asked, his mouth stuffed with food.

My eyes widened slightly, meeting them with Lorenzos before quickly glancing away.

"Oh he didn't show up." I spoke.

"Shit. Say your kidding." Theo butted in, dropping his fork on his plate.

"Nope." I laughed slightly.

"Oh he's dead." Mattheo spoke from further down the table, biting the inside of his cheek.

"Since when did you care about Madison, Riddle?" Draco asked, "Last time I checked you were throwing punches at her."

"They weren't aimed at her." Mattheo rolled his eyes, "They were aimed at Lorenzo."

"Draco, I told you i've forgiven Mattheo; you've done stupid shit whilst drunk too." I breathed, "Just let him sit and hang out with us again, please."

"Fine." Draco shook his head, "Don't think i'll be nice to him though."

"Thank you." I smiled.

I turned toward Mattheo.

"Mattheo!" I called out, watching him indicate his head toward me, "Come sit with us."

He furrowed his eyebrows before rolling his eyes and walking toward us, taking a seat next to Lorenzo.

"What so you guys like me now?" Mattheo spoke sarcastically.

"No not exactl-" Draco began, before being cut off by my leg piercing into him beneath the table.

"Ow-" Draco grunted.

"Yes. We do." I cleared my throat.

I wish I could say it wasn't awkward.

"You know I think you've overstated your welcome, Mattheo." Lorenzo clenched his jaw.

"I don't think he has, he's fine, Lorenzo." I whispered with a stern expression.

"Wait Mattheo-" Pansy blurted out, "did Cedric ever tell you where he was last night?"

My eyes shot up from my cereal; my heart stopping for a split second at the realisation of what
Pansy was about to ask.

"Hm?" Mattheo furrowed another eyebrow.

"You know..." she continued, "Madison said she went to talk to you last night to ask where Cedric was because apparently you guys are good friends. Did he tell you where he was going?"

Fuck.

I gulped heavily; watching as Lorenzo abruptly stopped taking a bite of his cereal and stared at me; his eyes burning through my skin.

"I-" Mattheo began, his eyes locking with mine as I shook my head discretely, sending him a discrete, pleading expression, desperately praying he'd go along with it.

I watched as Mattheo read my face, his eyes hardening slightly whilst examining his gaze into my eyes in attempt to try piece together what I wanted him to say and why I wanted him to cover up for me.

"No." He said sternly, looking away from my face, "He didn't tell me where he went."

Thank fuck, Mattheo. I thought.

Pansy nodded, "But Madison came to you last night, right? She said she came to you before she saw Cedric and Cho in the courtyards."

"HE CHEATED ON YOU WITH CHO CHANG?" Theo, Blaise, Mattheo and Draco said in a weirdly perfect unison.

The whole great hall turned  silent before slowly breaking out into unintelligible whispers.

"Mhm." I sighed awkwardly, circling my spoon into my bowl continuously.

"Oh i'm going to kill Diggory." Theo exasperated, slamming his plate down onto the wooden table.

"No-" I pleaded, 'Don't do that; I'll talk to him."

"No the fuck your not." Lorenzo seethed.

God I hated his protective side.

"Lorenzo, you've been awfully quiet." Blaise laughed, "Usually your the first one to threaten a fight with someone who starts shit with Madison."

I noticed Lorenzos adams apple twitch slightly.

"Oh trust me, Diggory won't make it to tommorow without a black eye." He scoffed.

"None of you guys are fighting anybody." I shook my head; standing up from the Slytherin
table bench and gathering my bag.

"For your information Pansy," Mattheos eyes locked with mine once again, "Im not entirely sure why you don't believe Madison; but she did talk to me yesterday night. I told her I didn't know where he was and she left."

"Sorry." Pansy threw her hands up in surrender, "She was just acting awfully suspicious, plus shes never asleep by the time I make it back to the dorms, she's usually almost always reading or finishing off assignments.

"Thank you." I sighed with relief, throwing my bag over my left shoulder, "Now if you don't mind; I have an ancient ruins class to get to."
