Over the past couple of days i've purposely avoided any form of contact with Lorenzo and cut off communication. Was I being petty? Sure. Was I being a tad dramatic? Maybe. But I was hurt. I'm not the type of girl to just almost kiss a guy and move on, if I like a guy; I must REALLY like him. And that was the case for Lorenzo.

But yet here I was, my palm rested on my chin restlessly as I listened to Snape blabber on about next weeks homework assignment. I rolled my eyes, a sigh of relief exiting my lungs as the sweet sound of the bell saved me just as I was about to fall asleep.

"Pansy, wait!" I semi-shouted, quickening my pace to catch up with her.

"Hey, what's up?" She asked, pushing her books into her chest.

"Want to be partners for the potions assignment next week?" I smiled.

"Of course." She laughed, "Who else would I partner up with?"

I pushed her arm gently, turning a corner and walking down the steps to the Slytherin common rooms before making our way up to the door and whispering the password.

"Oh shoot, I forgot to tell you-" Pansy cleared her throat.

"Oh no.." I exasperated, "What now?"

"There's that big party again tonight since it's Salzar Slytherins birthday or something." Pansy glanced down at her nails, "I don't think anyone actually cares that it's his birthday though, they just want an excuse for a party, hence why other houses are gonna be there too."

"And you are telling me this because...?" I asked, folding my arms.

"I want you to come to the party...pretty please?" she smiled at me, fluttering her lashes rather unconvincingly.

I blinked at her, my arms still folded in annoyance.

"Please?"

"Fine." I sighed. "This is the last party this month, I swear."

Pansy suddenly grabbed my arm, dragging me toward our dorm room.

"Oh and I'm doing your makeup by the way." She smirked.

And for what seemed like the one-thousandth time this week, I was once again met with the ugly sight of piercing green lights shining directly into my eyeline, the booming sound of 'Kiwi' by Harry Styles blasting into my eardrums, I was rather suprised by this choice, who knew some Slytherins actually had quality taste in music?

I squinted my eyes and scanned them across the room in a desperate attempt to find Pansy whom seemed to have gone straight to the bar. I figured that wasn't that bad of a plan, I hated loud noises and crowds; so a couple shots of alcohol will drown my sorrows until the morning.

My eyes halted at the sight of of a certain fluffy-haired brunette wearing a white, rolled up button down and black trousers. As much as I hated myself for it; I couldn't deny how annoyingly attractive he looked. The way his hair fell infront of his face, the way his upper chest peaked through the embroided buttons on his shirt...fuck I was getting distracted.

I took a large gulp at the sudden realisation that Lorenzo wasn't alone. His hand was placed strategically above a older Slytherin girls head, and their faces were inching closer. I quickly diverted my gaze to the floor, the sinking feeling in my stomach weighing my heart down so heavy I could almost feel it scar my soul.

Part of me expected this, Lorenzo was a known playboy at our school. As much as I tried to deny it; I didn't dare ask for his body count because he pretty much had girls in and out of his room on a daily basis.

'This shouldn't come as a suprise.' I told myself, breathing in deeply before exhaling and walking  towards the "bar" in the corner of the common room, clenching my knuckles when noticing Pansys absence and the possibility of her fucking Blaise in OUR dorm room. I hated parties, and this was why.

"Your tense." I felt a recognisable voice behind me speak, making me turn round instantly.

I exhaled. Thank fuck, it's Cedric.

"Oh hi." I smiled, scratching the back of my neck nervously.

"You need a hand getting a drink?" He laughed, taking note of my clear frustration.

"Oh I'm go-" I began, before thinking about the opportunity I had in my hands right now. I know for a fact Lorenzo doesn't like Cedric, and I know for a fact that I don't like Lorenzo right now, so this was the perfect opportunity to get back at him; a rebound.

"Uh yeah, thanks." I blinked, turning to the side to allow Cedric easier access to pour me a cup of vodka.

"Where are your friends?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows and picking up the tall glass bottle and unscrewing the lid.

"Good question." I laughed, "I'm not too sure myself."

Cedric smirked, and finished pouring my drink before handing it back to me and leaning against the wall beside us.

"What about Lorenzo over there, he's your friend isn't he?" Cedric spoke, indicating his head toward Lorenzo and the Slytherin girl in the corner.

"Oh, yeah; we're friends." I nodded awkwardly, noting to myself on how ironic that statement was considering Lorenzo and I's situation.

"How come your not with him?"

I spat out a bit of my drink, covering my mouth quickly and looking up at a confused-looking Cedric. 'With him?' As if.

"Oh we're not together." I coughed, holding onto my chest.

Cedric shook his head, turned it to his left and then back toward me. "I meant how come your not hanging out with him?"

My eyes widened, pissed off with my own stupidity to jump to such a conclusion.

"Oh right," I cleared my throat, "He seems to be occupied with another girl right now, wouldn't want to bother him, you know?"

"Another girl?" Cedric queried, folding his arms.

"Yeah uh..." I spoke, quickly picking at my brain to find a quick excuse, "He's been talking to multiple girls tonight, has he not?"

He nodded, "I see."

"Mhm." I took a sip of my drink.

"Well, since you seem so lonely over here..." He began, "Assuming your not busy this weekend, how about I meet you outside your dorm and take you to Hogsmeade?"

"As friends or...?"

"As a date." He smiled, his accent more prominent.

I looked at Cedric, then at Lorenzo, my jaw clenching at the sight of how close Lorenzo and the girl were getting, the way a smile creeped across her lips as he towered over her, the way her hands lingered the sides of his body with ease, it made my blood boil. I gulped and looked back at Cedric again.

"Sure." I smirked. "Why not?"
